"Shopping" server

I was thinking that maybe 1 way to reduce lag and server congestion would be to make a 2nd server to all servers, like xian 1 and xian 2, odin 1 and odin 2 etc. the second server will be just some big city where people can leave their stalls and there wont be any mobs or anything so it'll be a server dedicated for buying/selling stuff, also the stalling option will not be allowed on the 1st server. i know its a bit confusing but im kinda having trouble explaining..
I dont know if this would be a bad idea but i'd certainly like everyone's opinion. But at least people will be able to log into the "main" server whenever they want or almost whenever they want anyway.

another idea i had was making direct teleportations, like instantly from say const to jangan, obviously paying more gold, but i think for people with slow pcs like me it would help a lot.

anyway thanks for your opinions, feel free to call me a noob.

I've always thought splitting servers into channels would be the ideal solution to server traffic. But bots would still make the channels crowded.

Because JM doesn't seem to know how they can stop the bots, they should make bot servers, where botting is allowed on one (Let's call it Xian-bot) and there is legit server (Let's call that Xian) it would not be possible to travel in between.
Botting would not be checked in the bot server and with a bit of GM activity they can bring the botting on the legit server to 0.

Ofcourse it will be kind of hard to come up with something which can filter the bots, maybe they can edit their profile on the website to say "I want to bot" so they can't get in Xian, but they can get in Xian-bot.

This would be a good solution for legit players out there, just let those bots KS their own kind, the botter.

be anyway 2 server one to login for stall and other to hug mobs ..is no different.

The idea for the stalling server is crap. I have to re log in each time i need more elixirs?

Also im an impulse buyer. I see something i like while potting up, i buy it. Now that would be ruined.

It would just be annoying.

I like your idea. But i dont think that would happen.

Maybe if they make a new town lets call it Marketplace and u are only able to leave stall in that place. So that would reduce lags in other towns.

Or maybe they just update Stall network. We leave our items at some NPC and he sell them. So we can log off , ro go grind, and when we back he might sold them.

would be better if there was just a place you could teleport to from hotan, dw and jangan and it was like a town with all the stalls..

NO its not good idea. so if I want to buy something i must log out and log in to other server. u can say use teleport... still i must teleporting to other place. it's not good. I think it very nervous. Sometimes i just wanna look around in stalls and dont wanna buy nothing. and I think it is not posible to do that.

Here is the problem though:

you have to log out of one to go to another. Having 2 servers will not make servers less crowded. The places taken up by stalls will now be taken up by bots :/
And so if you log out of grinding server then its all over.

The stall idea would never work. I remember seeing somewhere how Joymax considers stalling an integral part of the game environment. Something to do with how there are real stalls like that in cities in China or something. I remember comments like that when people started talking about having an Auction House. They brought us the stall network, but did not get rid of stalls.

Besides, I'd hate to have to relog whenever I want to buy something in a stall, then relog again to grind.

I don't think stalls take up that much room on the server. Bots, especially gold bots, take up a LOT more space. Stalls would cause less lag in town if they were not animated.

As for direct teleportation, that would be a great idea. I see absolutely no point in having to hit Donwang, Hotan, and Samarkand, just to go from Jangan to Constantinople. Put all the cities in the list and price them accordingly.

I voted yes and it goes to the 2 ideas, but mostlly for the last 1

and another thing I want to say is that the not allowed to stall in "server 1" wouldn't be good for my oppinion, i've seen this idea in use in another game, but I don't remember exactly the game name, for now the pool is 19 to 19 xD so lets wait and see more opinions

Well what if there was simply a 2nd channel and through the 1st channel you would be able to access the stall network of the 2nd channel?
Like, simply press F and you'll get into the stall network of channel 2, that way you wont need to travel across 3 different cities to get what you need.
Seems like a slightly better idea, and i'm sure it'll cut down on the lagging problem a bit.

@shoto: Well bots will always be an issue but at least some more of us legits will be able to log in. Not entirely sure though....

Well I have a main character and a staller. I atleast know there are two people logged into my server that are legit. ^_^

If you make my staller go to another server, it just opens the spot for a bot. All those stallers means those people aren't out ksing you while you grind.

Connection problems could be solved by clustering the servers, but then that would mean less pt's sold and less money for joymax.

I am not wrong about opening the spot for a bot and you know it.

I dont buy pt's so I must try to log on and some nights I cant. It happens, you gotta realize this is Silkroad as much as we try, it is hard to deny the presence of bots and babysitters, they are there and take up ALOT of room why give them more space?
