How is it unfair? Traders get protection until lv. 40. Thief and Hunters are open game 20+ So quit whining. Traders had there glory days, now it's time for thieves to shine.
i find it hard to find traders to hunt for...and its pointless to run through the whole map looking for theives only to find and chase down some lvl 60ish theif to kill...hunting can be boring

They made it so people don't trade by themselves. By doing so, it requires team work between players. This encourages communication and unionship between players. It makes the game much more enjoyable and for that reason they implemented it.
Remember its a MMO, you have other people playing with you for a reason.

i understand but .....
who can i trade with
while my guilmates/friends are off?
while i got no high lvl hunter friends?
while some players are selfish?
while there are a lot of 70+ thieves?
It will come back in a balance. Hunters will start to pop up when there comes a need for them. Right now, traders above lvl 40 are dependent on hunters. Thats a good thing . Hunters are also rewarded for a successful trade run. So theres more incentive to be a hunter than before the update.

LOL at your irony. GG
Make more friends. If you dont have anyone to help you, take a risk. Trading isnt meant to be successful 100% of the time. It never was on the real sailkroad, and it wont be in an MMO. Otherwise wheres the fun in that?
If you have no one to help you, either take a risk and take dying on the chin like a real man would, or dont do it at all.

i understand but ..... who can i trade with while my guilmates/friends are off? Wait until they're on. while i got no high lvl hunter friends? Make some. while some players are selfish? Lol, explain please. As a Trader, you're in charge of whether the Hunter gets any exp or not... it's Traders who drop the Hunter out of the party before they sell the goods, not the other way around. while there are a lot of 70+ thieves?See answer 2

The fact you're pretty much in a safezone when trading from level 20 - 40 is enough of a babysitting session imo.
When you get to 40+, if you want to continue trading, then deal with it. I'd personally trade until 40 then go Hunter, or Thief if I had the money to fund it.

simple fn soloution -> attack gap, 5 lvls either side of the hunter/trader/thief
then jobbing can be fun for everyone, no matter what the lvl
am lvl 39 and debating whether to spend the whole lvl trading. After that jobbing will be stupid till lvl 7x (have lvl 6x char and jobbing is stupid, hoping it's not at 7x)

have you jobbed at lvl 4x or higher?
the problem is it's luck. if you don't see a thief/hunter then sweet if you do, then there's a 90% chance that the gap is huge. So lvl wins every time, no chance to fight your way out, just death from high lvls.

same thing as in the old days only instead of getting killed right off the bat you'd take a slow but painful death with popping...theres always bigger fish ALWAYS....

Of course I have... but that's life. There's always people who will destroy you, you just have to hope that you can avoid them.
There's not only one route for trading either.

Trades aren't meant to be done alone.
Would you want to hand deliver a briefcase full of 100 dollar bills, alone, from one side of a city to another, knowing that in between lies countless numbers of people who may or may not just be waiting to steal said briefcase from you? You'd want some form of protection. Do the delivery alone, accept the risks.
Besides, why do traders complain about losing protection above lvl 40? You should be thankful you get protection that far. Hunters and thieves don't ever get protection. As soon as a player hits lvl 20 and chooses to be a hunter or thief, he or she is open game to anyone else on the server of an opposing job.
