What kind of player are you?

I'm not going to vote since I'm all 3. There are parts in each of them that I agree with and disagree with.

Other/all , because I know for a fact that most players can identify themselves in each of the categories, and the poll would become rather less informative (as most readers would probably vote cat4. other/all). The descriptions for each were meant to be a guide, to help you identify the most dominant trait that would define you best. If you still couldnt categorize yourself, try to see what motivates you now, what keeps you playing the game right now.

Ah yes, the alchemist. I found it hard to place this in a separate psychographic profile as it is what most consider an essential part of the game, though the motivation in doing so may vary. I know compulsive gamblers might revel in the element of chance just to get a high enchantment on an equip, or full blues etc and sell them later to get gold, then repeat the process. I also know players like myself that alchemize equips just because, and then find it hard to part with it.

So it really depends, if you find it fun then you're cat3. If you want props from your friends, then you're probably cat2. If you want to use it to pwn the next player in pvp, then you're definitely cat1.

yah I am a gambler allright, not so much IRL , but in the game I just go for it, but that's what happen to my first char, he gambled himself into the gutter. It was fun though! lol good topic

Oh not at all

But its just statistically less usefull (misleading even if you had to forcefully commit yourself, so its a compromise). Although, there are a statistically significant part of the community that can fall in all 3 categories equally like yourself, I have to sway them to commit to at least one dominant one But, yes you're entitled to express your freedom of opinion, so its all good

I've met an expert murderer in Hercules I can tell you s/he is crazy.

Players can do interesting things in sro, and find their own niche.

I've murdered a number of fugnorants in-game. Though not particularly proud of it (or enjoy it), was only brave enough to get to pk lvl 6 (for fear of dropping equips). Murdering someone is actually a thrilling past time .

This is probably more common once you spent more time in the game . Any category might evolve to trying to be the best player on the server. Doing both however, is extremely difficult and rare, ie being the best player and using a unique char build (as there is limited creative space to do so, and one could argue the definition of best but thats a different thread ;D ).

1: No way I stand the competition with full sosun botters. I'll never be the best but I don't really care.
2: This applies slightly. I tried several builds, even my main character changed a lot since the beginning. I tried garment and armor, now I'm using protector. I started with lightning imbue, leveled force for res and therapy, then I dropped it for fire. And it's just one of my characters.
3: Rrright, there we are. I love my guild, I usually enjoy grinding, thief runs, unique hunts... well, everything. This gets my vote.

When I started out I read up on all the guides and other information i could find so i had a good idea on what I was going to do from the start. But for most of my time on sro i been about playing for fun and I tend to be creative on trying to think of fun things for the guild/union to do. So i guess i could fall into all 3 categories in a way, though mostly i fall into the 3rd one.

I had a nice lv69 som drop which I sold and spend it all on alchemy without any result. Oh well, next time I'll succeed

I mostly play for fun. I don't race to the cap and take my time lvling. I also try to get as much sos for the degree I can so I keep motivated, but I'm not trying to be the best out there. I just want to enjoy this game with good stuff and the guild/union.

I play for fun. I level slowly, and play the game in my free time. I am in no hurry for the levels, and I am in a guild of like-minded people. I dont care if the level cap becomes lvl 90 or lvl 100, because I just wont get to lvl 80 also in the near future.
