i agree with you, being a high lvl only means that you've spend alot of time playing the game. doesn't mean that you're better or anything......
one thing that u can say back to those "kids" is " oh, gratz that u've killed a low lvl, it must be very hard isn't it? "

You are wrong... most high levels actually spend less time with the game than low levels. It's a well established fact that almost everyone who is high level bots.

I think the more you play you will see there is actually more strategy to the game than at first glance. You can be a low lvl trader and do well it just takes more planning than buying some goods and going from point A to point B. For pvp , there's always gonna be someone higher lvl than you or better farmed or better gear, so you should compare it with how you do when you are equally matched with someone if you want to find any aspect of skill. The game grinding want to make you think that it is all mindless button mashing, but that doesn't carry over to pvp if you fight an equal oppenent.
Sure your referring to hand-eye coordination/reaction time, ect. of course SRO is not same as those other games, it's skill is in the attention to detail and being able to size up other characters and situations and take all factors into account (including lag lolz) so you decide best strategically how you can survive or beat an oppenent.

Mirrrorman wrote:I'm sorry if you disagree, but this game is not a game of skill.
It's purely and exclusively based on time, ie. the amount of time you have invested levelling up your character and pimping your equipment.
Thus calls like "noob' and the like, intended to be an insult really prove nothing. All it says is that you have spent more time on your character than your opponent, making you stronger and able to kill him( her).
I am sick to death of all the punk ass little brat kids who play this game and call you noob, weak etc.. because it really is not the case.
To be frank it's simple mathematics. Your level > my level, so you win. It really is that simple.
Of course there are variations of skills, strength, quality of equipment, but I believe this only applies within 5 or so levels. That is to say a level 43 character with totally pimped full SOS may be able to kill a level 48-53 character, but when the gap is ten levels or more, skill has nothing to do with it.
To some you'd agree I am stating the obvious, to others you might be shocked and dismayed that you don't actually possess anything more than a higher level character, you are NOT special, you individually are in no way better at playing this game than the trader ten levels below you that you just killed.
I am an older player (26), coming from a background of platformers like Mario, Sonic, WOnder BOy etc. and fighting games like Street Fighter and Mortal KOmbat where split second reflexes and hand-eye co-ordination was most definitely required to be good. Not simply the time you've invested in your character.
I can't stress enough how much these (assumptions....) spoilt, obese American children with rich, neglectful parents annoy the hell out of me when they claim superiority after killing someone (me) when it has nothing to with ability, only maths.
Sorry I don't use a cheat /bot program, and I work full time to pay my mortgage, maintain a relationship (no kids thank f'king christ) and cook, clean, shop etc.. so I simply can't be playing this game ten hours a day. That doesn't mean you can give me shit about being a mere level 43, when you've botted, bought gold and mooched off your parent's paying your internet, electricity, food etc bills and got seven level 70+ characters.
/end rant
...what's your point...some 10 year old called you a noob and you rant?
i agree with you that this game like any game requires a heavy investment of time. But there is skill involved in PvP ... people who bot don't know how to pvp, they don't understand there character. People new to PvP also don't know the best combinations of skills for fighting different builds. In this game, as in any MMO a big factor is how you distribute points on your character and what type of equipment you have. Please do not bullshit about "oh he bots or buys gold so has better gear than me" lots of legits are doing well in the game, are able to bargain, and are able to make money. I'm legit and i have owned sos set every single level...i happen to be good at buying low selling high. And you know what, i am f*cking special...cuz besides being able to grind i have the knowledge to put good shit on my gear, and that makes me better than you. Obviously you're not good enough if you can't do that or youdon't have enough time...just go back to mario k?
also i kick so much ass at fighting games... so i got the reflexes.
and the word noob stopped meaning anything years ago...everyone uses it too often and incorrectly. noob!

+1 ...![]()
and in 90% of the MMPORG its is not a problem to get the cap as its the problem to get a pimped gear ...
in WoW for example u can be lvl 70 in one month with only 4 hours a day of playing ...
and as he said in GW you can reach the cap in only 3 dayz ..
joymax really needs to decrease the grinding and increase the fun and skills
lol only 4 hours

Still pvp is based on skill and luck. The most skilled player can be beaten by any newb that just happends to crit 3 times in a row.
However there are people out there that can fight fully farmed sosun owners with a +5 set and might end up on top. Simply by using the right skills/walls/pw at the right time.
I have 17k hp and I can survive against a nuker who nukes me for 10k+ atleast a min, I cant kill him but he will need some time to kill me.

Loll, thats right.
C'mon ppl, i'm level 76 now and i'm legit. This game doesn't take any skill. List most mmos.... it just takes patience
And no it's not true that a lvl 56 will beat a lvl 76 because the level 76 don't know how to use his skills.... lol ( Whats so hard in pressing 1 ~ 0 on your keyboard ).

AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! If battlefield had anything close to responsive controls it would be playable. It has a good upgrade system, FoW, and 'physics', but the controls RUIN it. There is a literal one second lag between command and attack. -.- pity.

Enough boasting, and put your dick away.
Face it, this game is about time and money when it comes to 1 v 1. Sure, you could relate knowledge to skill, and knowing when to use what move, but what it comes down to in the end is who has the most sosun parts, or weapons.
Who has the sosun weapons? Botters, 90% of those with sosun botted to get them. I know this because I know many people who bot not just 1 character, but 4 or 5 at a time - that is how they have full sosun +5 100% blue gear.
This game is about gold, how much time you spend on the game (which is why botters are the best characters because a legit cant spend more time than a bot can on grinding) and sometimes, what skills you use while you play.
sometimes I wonder why I stay legit, and I think the only reason is, is because of the friends I have in the game. Behond that, I might have just started botting.
rev6 my gear if you want, blueygurl on athens. I also have the best +7 on the athens server - 100% magical (1484 magical max damage), critical 8, full blue sword. But hands down, I get my ass handed to me by botters with sosun pieces and weapons, and all they do is hit 2 moves over and over again. No skill, just damage, thats the way all MMOs work.

oh god...
why do you even post.
you are a retard, let me rephrase what i said because you can obviously not read/ or chose not to read my entire post.
This game requires skill. Maybe not in conventional sense (reflexes etc etc) but skills to attain weapons and armors that are expensive. Most of us do not play the game enough to be able to get sos drops etc etc on a daily basis and thus have to rely on our ability to bargain and make money in game. Those of us who are able to do it are skilled and have figured out how to succeed in this game. This mean we are able to afford sun parts, you dolt. I don't bot for sun parts, i have to buy them!!! and if i can afford them while you can't in a legit manner i'm better at the game than you, simple fact. why is that being a dick? i mean seriously...i know a guy in my server who is lower level than me, he just enjoys the economy to death and is able to afford sun/som/sos parts for himself and his guild. he's way better at the game than me, as ic an only support my self.
as far as your comment about my dick, well ok, i'll put it away
the only reason i came off as insensitive and condescending was because the author of the post collectively dissed legit players who are able to do well on the game. Also on top of that the author made it sound like since he's played f*cking mario, he is somewhow better. I play mario...am i speciaL?
i agree with the author that bots have the advantage, but you know what...i'll take twice as long to level, but i'll get there.
its easy to have a scapegoat. its easy to say i suck because its that guys fault...he has sun parts, i don't. he has this or that and i don't. How about for once in your life trying to get it yourself?
Bots are a problem in this game...you don't have to tell me over and over and over. I already know...and i've gotten over it, now i'm just making the best of it. Sure i complain about bots, but i don't give up hope just because someone who has better gear than me beats me. if the author feels like he can no longer enjoy this game because others are better than him...he should just give up. what is the point of his post? also as i have stated before noob is overused and mean nothing so no need to get all frazzled.
please go watch someone like embodiement pvp she doesn't have sun parts and she is amazing in game. There are others who are very good pvp's some of them don't win but you watch them struggle against sun players and you cheer for them and you know that they are good. There is more to this game than sun parts.

It's not going to be solo based anymore like Chinese characters were. In a party, it actually requires some skill to do your supposed role... PvPs are also revolutionized... It's just not just the usual 12345 now. Also, on future updates with the sieges, major strategic stuff is needed there.

Without a doubt... if you want skill in SRO, learn 2 euro.
Most euro classes (pvp) really do take skill to learn and play well, along side with group play. Tanks and Clerics are the easiest examples, you can 100% tell who has skill and knowledge, over another of the same class.
Legit and Proud
I agree 100% with most of these posts, although I must point out that there are still possible ways to be 'noob'
Ex. Level 80 'HOW DO I USE MY SKILZL TO GRIND PLX HELP EM PLX' (Yes I'm stretching that one a little far, >.>)
The only 'skill' I can see in this game would be mastering the economy (Buying, reselling, pimping and selling, etc), which is one of the biggest reasons I play this game, but it's getting a little to far out of hand now..with all the gold companies =(

pvping only has skill when it within a reasonable lvl range, the skill is to avoid pvping higher lvls. I'm a cleric and loving my cleric, vs other euro's at around the same lvl im hard to take down, vs a chinese auto potion noob 30 lvls higher no amount of skill can save me. My only thing to say is if you auto potion you are noob, ok i admit i auto potion to lvl faster when i had a china man and it felt nooby and was, But its no fun using auto potion you don't have to monitor your hp or mp just click nuke click nuke click nuke click nuke repeat for hours. I kinda wish they'd take out auto potion, since i'm not going to continue using it because it ruins any part of skill in the game, sure you have to figure out a good ratio but not that hard, just set it high enough that a potion will bring you to full hp/mp or even higher if the creatures around you are hitting higher, and ta dah instant immortal as long as you stay on lvl. My cleric is pretty die hard though I was forced to solo a Hun Assault Lancer while some guy was "power lvling me" i was bored so i went i just wanted to explore, he went afk and i has forced to kill one solo while lvl 24 i killed the lvl 36 creature, and it wasn't easy, the difference with people and lvl difference and pvp is that they auto potion away any chance for a fair fight since they potion away the dmg with out even having to pause special attacks and click a potion they just blast you away where as they could still die if auto potion wasn't there because you could still hurt them enough to endanger themselves if they didn't bother to heal and could die if they got careless.
My definition of noob is some one who is just stupid who asks to have their hand held thru every step of the game, and has to ask how to do anything. Not me, as foolish as it was at lvl 11 i got on horse back to ride to hotan, sure it was a waste but i got out and explored I made it too, alchemy i figured it out myself (not like there is much to it), i observed learned and well tried just about every possible reasonable build.
My definition of knoobe is a generic knoobe, who does something such as ks knoobe, auto potion knoobe, the lvl 64+ knoobe who goes to jangang south gate to kill all the lvl 10's with capes, ext... btw why are the kill steal rates so high in low lvl areas, oh yes of course botters are knoobes, and scammers (NO 10K DAMNIT), oh yes another one people who add letters to the end of their words (example in stalls SOSOSOSOSOOSOSOSOS, rrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssss, 10 plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, is it so hard to keep it direct and not annoying to read the the word is please not pls plz plis or plsssssssss) lol i don't even buy from stalls that name them self in such annoyin ways or i'll refuse to res some one who spams that, if they ask breifly and nicely i will, or i'll do it if they are just laying there, (so lame the other day my wizzard i made only lvl 17 just killed a giant this noob was fighting simons landon, ok no problem so he begs ressssssssssssssssssss to me after pming me when its obvious i'm a wizzard not a cleric, i got killed typing to him "can't retardddddddddddddddddddd", because a couple simons spawned and zaped me, i swear these people strive to be annoying
and use real words not things that are close to real words, substantiations are ok

Sorry but that's utter bullshit. This game is based on the long term grind. Be it by hand or bot you can decide. If you don't like the grind go play some easy leveling game like cabal or wow.
Yeah there are not alot of skill variation but ALOT of people love it. Ant thats what makes sro so special. It dares to do it's own thing. Ofcourse some one who played the game for a year is totally going to rock someone whos been playing for alot less. of course if it's My lvl > Random lvl = Me win. Cause I invested more time .. lol.
I agree there are alot of little kids ... but that gives me the surge to continue. All these little mouthing I F*CK MAMA kids or general immature retards make this game quite amusing. All tho if some one can kill you ... they have the right to smack talk, seeing as they > you. If you don't like it go grind more or buy better gear. Even if they botted to the cap bought 3 full sun sets every sun wep and sun jewels .. you still have a chance. only the gullible quit.
Oh yeah .. and please don't stereotype.
I'm kinda 50/50 no matter if your farm or not you will always get pawn by someone higher lvl. And I do kinda side with the topicstarter that this game is kinda not skill base, just hit the cap, max the needed skill and bash 1234 whenever pvping and your fine (that was mostly directed at glaviers). Crumps also about smack talk, it is ok if they were the same lvl range, but if a 52 wipes out a 20-30 in 1hit and starts bragging that is just pathetic and annoying on the 20-30's behalf. What the topic starter was saying is that this game should be who has the most skill wins in pvp not lvl owns in pvp. But thats the way the game is.
P.S. May I suggest NaGunz if you want something skill base in that game a lvl1 could wipe out a party of lvl40s if he know what he is doing, its very fast and intense the graphics are ok + theres guns : ), Its a 3 person shooter with a rpg kinda theme the only reason to lvl in that game is to get better gear/gunz/melee and also go into the high lvl channels.
heres a vid

lol, no skill game? i guess you haven't seen that Phunky vid huh?
not onyl tanking 5 capped players but actually killing them in a job fight. you can't say "well he's blader ffs!" try tanking five white tigers that are white to you, you'd see taht this game requires skills. though not street fighter skills where your ryu spams hadokens while you wait for your opponent to jump so you can shoryuken him? lol.
btw, KOF > SF+MK
P.S. that vid should really be posted again. (i said this alreddy in another topic)

skill doesn't determine how much you can tank its how fast you can repot back that hp you loss.

potting and repotting is constant, setting aside lag issues and perhaps your keyboard keys being full of lint, so you cannot call someone "skilled" because they repot fast enough. as i said, if you would have seen the video, it was not just him tanking 5 capped players, but actually killing them off. the skill he demonstrated went beyond teh usual typing of keys, in the careful decision to either stay in one place, who to kill first, what skill to use at a given moment. i saw Passion do the same thing when she and Ares tagged teamed to kill of 25++ theives in DW south gate a long time ago. to be clear about that day Passion didn't dive into the swarm of thieves, she ran around a lot, when thieves give chase, since she's wearing garms, she waits until the swarm dwindles with just the fast ones, usually 2 or 3 strs wearing gamrs with maxed phantom and slowly kills one of the three, when the nukers in armors catch up and start doing their stuff, Passion starts running again. try being an int nuker in an auto share party at lvl 69 with white gear fighting off a nachal giant, 3 party nachals and some random general nachals, maybe you'll get to feel how she did it, but i tell you , it's not just pressing buttons. it's hard, it takes a long time, but it's fun.
you dont have to be a blader to use skills, you just have to know that this game does need fighting skills. jsut taht most people have their own idea of what "skills" should be and tehn go out and try to impose that standard on the game, which frustrates them coz the game has it's own rules.
i blame those youtube vids of people with nice gear for this mindset. one on one pvp's with constant KD's and SSS and GSM's are shit. go out, wear a job suit and feel the thrill. tehn come back and tell me this game does not need skills.

sneaksie wrote:its klicking and pressing guy, you dont have to time cooldowns, dont have to be behind someone to do some skill just click and mash. then if you manage to move out of combat the enemy will just pot back. so it doesnt work like how you described.
as i said, people have their own standard for pvp that most of the time does not work. you dont have to go behind someone, or necessarily call it a loss if you phantom out of range coz it gives the enemy time to pot back up. while phantoming away, your also giving your strongest skills time to cool down which when used again, can eat up the enemies "potted" up HP.
one thing is true though, everyone is stuck at DW south, seeing key pressers/mashers which is why it's very hard for people to understand the finer points in this game's pvp. so 2d when it comes to perspective IMO.
also, that capped pvp is waaay better. i'll be there in 1 month, hopefully.

Creating an elite char is skill
It takes time and practice to learn to build a character.
