I guess I can move this to GD so more people will give you opinions about your character name ^^
I think it sounds good, but I don't know what surging means. And I personally don't like names like PwnageArcher, GodlyNuker, BloodyGlaive, or stuff with the build as a part. I think you need something to better show off your personality ^^

What kind of skills does he plan on getting? If he's getting Lightning and Blade skills, then it's a decent name. It doesn't seem too creative, but it's pretty good. Definitely much better than some of the name people come up with...
My level 16 Chinese character is named ShockPaddle. (Lightning/Force)
My level 19 Rogue/Bard is named Ambidextrous. (I was going to go with Rogue/Warrior so I could use dual axes, but I figured I would never bother to switch to them anyway. xP)
Just be creative. SurgingBlade is okay. It's sort of a midpoint between being simple and sweet and being complicated and meaningful, making it a bit less outstanding than both. Ambidextrous usually means "able to use both hands skillfully and easily". Rogues use two daggers or crossbows, but I focus on daggers. It's simple, but it makes a lot of sense.
To tell you the truth, most people don't care what your name is. I care more about my characters' names than people care about them.
SurgingBlade sounds cool, but it seems like you just stuck a big word on there to make it sound cool. If your character was Blade/Ice/Lightning, you could use a name like "SuperConductor" or "NoResistance" (referring to the lack of resistance that the medium [what the electricity is being passed through, to make things simple] encounters when traveling through a superconductor] AND also the lack of resistance that your enemies will put up against you. It's simple, but it has two meanings). Why? Well... Materials are often supercooled in order to make them better conductors, metal being some of these materials. Names like that might have a nice hidden meaning, but may no't sound very cool. I pick names with several meanings more often than I pick names that just sound cool. In reality, no one really cares. Only I do. I've gotten one compliment on my name, and that was for Ambidextrous. (Short and sweet!)
You most definitely will not get any compliments for a name like SurgingBlade, but do you really care?

+1
Try and get a name that fits the personality not the build. Its also nice to get something in the middle between gamey and RL.
But forever the best gaming name will be
xX_KNIGHTWARRIORKING43421_Xx
P.S For the love of god DONT make a name called tr_TuRkLeR_tr

I had to agree with that =) Sometimes its hard to think of a relation between your game char and RL but don't think about it too much, follow your instincts xD
My Japanese name is Misaki, so I wanted something that started with Mi, and Millenium sounded cool so I stuck to it. Just my experience, prolly not gonna help but I can't sleep tonight. Gotta spam the forums more
