what is the difference between elites and giants

from wat i know, elites are spawned by uniques meaining they only appear when they appear. and giants spawn regurlaly

Elites sound cooler

plus they're more diverse. There are black tiger elites and white ones too. Also, they have a slightly different AI script about how and who they attack. I think they have less HP too, maybe more, I don't remember

Actually I think I can 1 hit a giant tiger and like 3 hit an elite one.

Elites are like between giants and normal mobs I guess. More HP and drop more gold with a higher chance of dropping an item.

Elites have less hp then giants, a bit smaller (in size) and hit harder then giants.
