Bot Companies and Gold Companies Sued?

Post by Xiao_xin »

From a legal stand point.

Can't Joymax pursuse these companies legally? These companies are making money with virtual currency or items that are supposedly "property of joymax"

If I had a company and some other company was making profit off my own products without my consent, I would be very upset. So would the government, or else their would be no property rights or protection of copyrights and patents.

I mean Joymax does possess copyrights to all material pertaining to Silkroad Online right? So why don't they just sue these companies. Its not exactly had to find them.

I may be delusional, but I think a new company has a spam bot show up in Hotan, DW and Jangan on Aege server for gold selling everyday. How these GM's who don't show themselves for fear of getting attacked do not see these spam bots is beyond my understanding, they are annoying...

Also despite these so called harsh bans and punishments, there are more gold bots on Aege than there were a year ago, a month ago...they are increasing

well they are lazy, already seen that.

Takes them a year to translate korean to english for every cap, seems a bit ridiculous to me. Too lazy to organize events... too lazy to ban bots that hump everything in Takla 24/7, don't think the walls, and rox appreciate being molested in this fashion.

But being lazy about money? Maybe just me, but seems majority of inspections have to do with payment methods.

Isn't it in the interest of Joymax to protect their profits and products?

I just don't understand. Can someone explain.

I mean Microsoft gets pissed off if just 1 person pirates Windoes XP or Vista.

For me what would be really interesting to know is what these "GMs" do in Silkroad. I mean you go programmers, got marketing department, sales, executives, forum mods.

So GM, what do they do? Cause they aren't in game. They don't do what MOST GMs do in other games. Man this would be so interesting to know.

Probably reading this topic right now and laughing at me...:(

I will make a quick summary of how everything goes down. Have you ever wondered why gold bots don't ever get banned? Well it's simply. Joymax makes a deal with these sites, which allows them to bot up iSRO and make losts of In Game Gold. This gold is then sold to iSRO player like me and you. But the catch is that Joymax makes a certain % of profit from the gold that was just sold, hence they make money, the gold botters make money, and me and you end up with a screwed up economy...Sounds like Joymax doesn't it? Yeah I thought so...

It's a game >.>. More people buy gold, more people stay in game, longer you stay in game, more you have to buy gold tickets etc.

Lol they could just dupe gold and sell it. I doubt your story has any truth in it.

Yeah,

I've read and talked to those who believe that the bots are created by Joymax. That these gold companies are supported by Joymax.

I just don't believe that.

There must be some legal reason why they can't pursue these companies, just wondering what it is.

Or else, the sad truth may be, that Joymax doesn't care. If they don't care enough to do this, they don't care about us, fact majority of players I know pay good money for a good gaming atmosphere.

BTW I believe somewhere on this forum or official forum, there is post of profits for the game Silkroad.

iSRO generates more profit than any of the other SRO (ksro, vsro, jsro, csro, tsro) by, err way too much considering we recieve the least for our money.

I won't blame the players for the existence of these bot companies and gold companies, because players will do w/e they can to get an edge. Its just the way people are.

I'll blame Joymax, for not going to the source of the problem. No gold companies, no bot companies, players can't buy bot or buy gold.

Don't just pursue bot companies that make money. Pursue forums that promote them, pursue forums that provide free or cracked bots. Pursue any person that creates and then distributes his bot.

Joymax makes the bots

Post by silkroadnoob »

Its pretty obvios... Joymax made the game and easily could deisgn a bot hahah I bet they just sell the bot on other sites to make some extra money.

They made the game take FOREVER to lvl Which Clearly makes almost all users need to buy more and more Gold Tickets and silk/gold'

The game is addicting and competative Which makes people buy more gold and silk to make there character better than another.

They dont spend much money on making the servers any better which causes server traffic, thent hey come out with Premium tickets and not to long from now if you dont have 1 you wont get in :-)

Its all just a BIG MONEY MAKING Shithole!..

End

i don't know if there is a conspiracy (pretty sure there isn't), but i mean can they really take legal action and to what end. Look at WoW for example...gold companies/bots are out there but WoW doesn't seem to do anything about it...i mean what will it accomplish...as soon as one goes down another will pop up. Not to mention these companies are usually based outside of a country's jurisdiction and it must be difficult to pursue someone not even in your country.

think about it this way they sue the company, with the cost of lawyers and how long it takes etc. They make a little profit during that time a new company comes up. Gold service is just like the botting problem :(

im not sure u can sue ppl from selling virtual items. i think there's been series of court cases where the develops block the players saying the developers own all virtual items (and its contained in the agreement u signed before being able to log in), but the players then argued that the items being sold is only a representation, meaning its that the virtual items are not the one being actually sold but the time & effor spent by the players in gathering those items. :D

in short, it depends on ur legal system. im not sure about korea's though. and i think any suit will be in korea since joymax is a korean company. my thoughts from a legal standpoint. :D

as to banning of bots, well, only joymax can answer why they don't ban them. considering u get spam about every 30 secs when in town and about 30mins via globals. :D

There many legal issues here. First the game is international which means it would be difficult to sue every gold/bot company. But, Joymax can sue locally and if the customer is upset they can go to their local customer rights group. But many of the silk players are underage or miss informed about their rights and they mostly just cry on forums and do not take any actual actions.

Joymax, has offices in San Jose, California. I dont know too much about the law but i bet if we file a demand to reduce the game unfairness and all that we can get some publicity and may, just may be reduce the problem. =)

I am sure no korean company wants ABC, CNN, in their behind!

doubt about abc, cnn covering our grievances :x
with other international issues at hand, i think ppl will actually pay attention to SRO lawsuit. :P

the best way (my opinion) is to vote with our money, if we like the service, we buy silk, if not, either don't play the game or play it but don't buy silk. imagine having all servers full but no one buying silk?!? 8)

jm will definitely do some events, lower silk items or actually improve SRO. (hoping)

The companys sell the service.
They sell the time it takes to get the gold not the gold itself.

otherwise you wouldn't see about 200 gold sellers for all the different games.
If by over boosted you Mean heck yes, then yes, it is over boosted.

The ToS only allows them to kick people that break their rules. It does not give them any legal standing in a court of law. Since there's no law being broken by these companies, there's nothing they can be sued over.
