Alchemy Question

Im pretty sure nothing that addresses this very specific issue has been posted in the forums. YES, i have used the search function.

If you have a +5 weapon with +0% mag or phys attack and you use a stone to try to increase it, is it possible that the attack goes down? I really dont want to use a stone and have my +5 spear go down to the stats of a +3. Any help would be appreciated.

You cannot assimlate a + stat on any equipment. If your spear is +5 and you try to +6 it then that can fail and reduce the + stat to 0 (or 4 if you have an astral) but trying to up the physical attack power will not assimilate your +
