WHERE ARE THE GM's?
Hi. I just want to say something that's been bothering me for a while now... I'm playing on Olympus, I like this game very much and support the creators by buying silk. But for this I expect something in return...
First of all there are more and more botters every day! This is really making the game uplayable, cause they kill everything with 1 shot, due to the fact they are usually some lvls higher than monsters that they are killing. And a lot of them even KS. Not to mention that they are also making it harder to log in!!! It takes about 30 minute to 1 hour if you're not lucky enough to get in the game! Not to mention the traffic between weekends. And as I said, I wouldn't mind if the servers were full of REAL players.
Just for example... I was at my friends' house 3 days ago and he's playing WOW. He saw a character he thought was botting and he tagged him. 10 minutes later a gm pm-ed him and said thank you, we'll keep an eye on him. 20 minutes later, the botter was banned...
Secondly... There is a character called Power4game and he is spamming hotan for like 2 weeks now!!! He's advertising some gold purchase service and I can't beleve how can this be allowed? Does noone ever come online and see this? It is making it impossible to write WTS or WTB and it is really annoying...
I believe that Joymax is doing their best in trying to provide us a great service but still... I think that they could do a lot more on this areas.
Good luck to all and have fun;) c ya onlineXD

i think that getting rid of bots would be extremely wise, i think the next step instead of making more servers and more monsters/weapons, they need to focus directly on bots. They need to find a program that Bans their IP when they get caught for botting. That should be their number 1 focus right now. They shouldnt worry about people being happy and coming out with events and new things and just need to worry about bots for a while. People are getting sick of bots and leaving the game cause of it, so in turn, joymax is loosing some of its money as well. Its also taking the fun away from people that actually play and even pay for things in that game. Im not critizising the mods or gms of the game but they could do a lot better to fix this.

Unfortuntately, there are two problems with this:
1) IP bans are ineffective, as IP addresses can be easily changed at the point of service or via a proxy.
2) Apparently the botters buy silk, and as long as that happens Joymax isn't going to cut off some of their revenue stream.
I wholeheartedly agree that botting is destroying the game. I think a good solution would be a timed captcha test upon entering or teleporting into towns. When the bots re-up their pots and fix their equipment, they'll have to enter a code within a certain period of time. If the time expires, they are temp banned from the server for some period of time (say a few hours or so).

Shhhh! I know; there would be some dude sitting there in his basement with a 100-pack of em.
I still like the idea of being able to monitor packets to tell if it's running through a modified or legit client. Seems like that's easiest way. Block all the modified client/clientless connections and VOILA, problem solved.

no... the best way is the spotting method by human players supplemented by a reward system, you spot and report 20 suspecting players, if they were found to be bots. you get sos of your choice, 1 degree below your char's lvl

Don't even need to swap cards.
The MAC for modern Ethernet cards can be spoofed/changed via software or a registry key setting. The same holds true for wifi adapters as well.
