Why can't Joymax...
Why can't Joymax...
...Expand overall server size?
It may be a silly question, and there might be an incredably simple answer but i just don't understand. Surely it'd solve our problems. Wouldn't it?

Its more difficult that it sounds.
The amount of bandwidth the servers already take is enormous. It would be hard to make that amount any bigger without spending ALOT of money.
PLUS if the servers were made larger, just more bots would log on, so in the end you wouldn't win.
Ooh, I got a sexy ex-staff title!

Not to digress but, it's a vagina, and obviously he has something against sex.
Joymax isn't too lazy to expand. These servers are pretty much small partitions from a drive (not literal, but theoretical). Joymax purchases space in a server, and a line speed. They then decide how many simultaneous users can connect to each server, and still keep the load at a minimum. To add a new server, means they need more space, processor power, bandwidth, and so forth. All of these will need to be purchased from whoever they bought the server from, probably a collocation data center in Korea [sic]. It just comes down to funds.

it all comes up to me saying " y dont they just make another alps server but name them like alps 1 and alps 2 lol and if like 1 is crawded u can go on another 1 but still have everything u own before, yup just like in runescape! but then u may say it will get crawded with bots agein and ill say y dont ban them ?"
OMFG massive vagina beams!
As for your question...lolz i've been asking the same for quite some time but have now realised that it is actually much, much harder than it sounds.
JoyMax buy their server bandwidth at the same size each time a new server is implemented or something so to upgrade would cost billions (maybe what, like a tenner?)

that wouldve been a smart thing to do at the start. but the clashing of the economies would mess up something ^_^
they could probably try to pull it off now but yea.....
they really need to take some ideas from runescape
IE:
randoms, worlds instead of servers, better customer support and that stuff.
(even tho RS is java based)

No one on earth even has one like that...
Yet.Muhahaha
Uh, do you know what ABSTAIN means? It means to be celebate, aka, not have sex. A space-invader vagina followed by the words ABSTAIN means whoever made that image has something against sex. I wasn't offended.
Once again, I question the intelligence of numerous members of this community. I love how, after offering a brief explanation of why they can't add a new server, some idiots run amok asking the same question as the topic starter, and others regurgitate my answer in a less subtle, I-have-no-idea-what-I-am-talking-about fashion.
Get it through your heads that it would cost thousands of dollars to make a new server. It would ruin economies to allow anyone to play on any server. It would cost the same to make 'mini' servers (like Alps 1, 2, etc). They are not capable of increasing player size per server by modifying a simple *.ini file, without over stressing the hardware.
