How long do you think SRO will last?

Post by Luna »

Simple question - With many of the older players leaving the game, and with the poor customer service from Joymax, how long do you think this game will last?

Two years plus, because I'll be still playing it. :)

I just started a new character in Alexander last week. And I am looking forward to Europe and that fortress thing.

IF Jm don't do anything...less than 6 month. If they do, jeez idk, there would be no stopping this game.

My psychic sense tell me its gonna be the first option tho.

Even if Joymax does nothing there will always be new players to
fill the slots of the players that quit. Being that the game is free
makes it so that a lot of ppl play it.

Also they use the fact that the game is "free" so that they
don't have to provide any support or anything because you
pay for an item not the game.

Unless some unexpected event causes them to have to pull the plug on it, it's not going to die off just like that.

The game industry today focuses more on the graphics than on the gameplay. If it stays like that, then Silkroad shall live.

Make a beautifull game engine, do some advertising, ask your 3rold step sister to write all your quests, and survery chinese rice-pickers on what the gameplay of this new game should be like.

What do you get? Silkroad Online & 9Dragons.

agree, in reality this forum only represents a minority of gamers. in fact, most casual gamers would not visit a forum. Therefore, even if everyone in this forum say that they are quitting SRO, it would only be a small percentage of the entire gaming population. just look at how many newbies are there in jg and you'll know this game would not end soon due to lack of player.

If ISRO gets all KSRO's Updates maybe it will still last 2 years above.

It's just like runescape, they keep adding good things. (wait what am i saying) Anyway when they add euro etc There will be 5x as many players i can bet my house on it. People who have quit will start again and people who have never played because of thinking game too small will now start. Also the people who don't like chinese charcters ^^.
We remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country, for their friends and for their families. They shall live on forever in our memories.

i think it'll last long because the community is strong and sooner or later the GMs will be forced to give the american offices more power and some updates\patches will finally come out.

and yoda u cant compare RS to SRO especially since RS is a java based game and they come out with updates every week.

and they aren't hesitant to patch things like crackers.

The game as game will live as long as its going to run on even 1 server, there will be always someone who will play. As its seem JoyMax don`t plan to work on any new games, only update SRO with new thing as long as they can as long as they can earn some cash from it. So its 100% that will last more then 2 years.
SRO is one of top free mmorpgs, with all problems we know about still its free and as long u can play without pay there will be many people playing.

What is question will Joymax still keep earning much money from it in future?
If bot users wont be punished there be less and less people who will play in normal way to last lvl. Less high lvls will be less gold tickets that people will need, less money for joymax and so on.
With more new free and better games people will leave from sro and start play new better, interesting games,so only viets and turks will left in sro world.

18 months - 2yrs.

Here my 2cents:
Well the thing is, alot of the Players that were known by the community pretty well either quit or started botting the f*k out of their butts (sry for language but its true). Not that Im complaining I understand why they do it. I mean.... Joymax doesnt give us enough motivation to keep playing.

Theres only ONE goal that goes for everyone: get to 80 and kill yarkan.

So yea, i used to know like 60% legit players.. now I know 20% legit players and most of them arent even my friends neither have I ever really heard of em.

When I go out to grind.... phew... too many ppl that i dunno about.

I havent heard about 2moons yet can anyone confirm about that? like send me informations about it to my PM? Cause yea, I just wanna be fully farmed, kill yarkan once and quit. Dont have any motivation to play... maybe when we get some new stuff I might come back.

But yea would be nice to have some infos about this 2moons stuff, thanks in advance =)

lol
silkroad is dead already.
when 9 of each 10 ppl in game are botting u can say for sure that the game is pretty much dead, it wont close if is that u want to say, joymax makes alot of money, they only have incomes, they have like what 3 gms in korea and 3 in usa and the servers maintance i think one server pay everything all the others is just money to joymax, it wont close because
1-its a cheat free world
2-its free
3-nice graphics
Server: Rome

hmm. ITs totally dead. But its totally alive. you see...

Lose all the legits and greatness in the game and put in a server full of bots and too higher economy. and what have you got. A game "going strong"

So yeah its still going to be strong for a long time. thanx to the suuport JM gets ........ BOOOOOTTTTTTSSSSSS

Concerning the legits, it will be dead in at most one year. Alot of people are quitting. With all the bots it will be alive and well for a long time from now. :(

As soon as it dies it will come back to life. As soon as all the legits give up and let bots win the bots will leave. Whats the point in them being their if there is no legits to be better than? And then when they leave all the gold farmers will leave because there wont be anyone left to buy gold.

Then all the legits will come back and slowly (but surely) the bots will come back until the whole process starts again.
