A positive thread

figured I should once again rise up and hand out smiles to people amongst all the filthy stuff.
I didn't plan on doing this until I was capped, and had made my (planned) video, but ah well, fun is fun.
since mid November, I, Demarthl, have been playing silkroad under a new alias. I think it was november anyway...
some of you may already know it's name.

I present to you, Kezzik, Pure Strength Fire Glaive, with a hint of Ice adn a dash of lightning.



I began this character, with no more then a couple mil gold, and just an end plan of my dream tank.

Dem hath;

• Hand grinded, at least 6 hours a day, almost every day
• 9 Gap levelled from 9 until 30, Without Gold Ticket or monkey
• farmed a total of 72,000 SP (9 - 30 + 30 - 32 on GT)
• Found 5 sos items, ranging from a 17 talisman, 19 crown, 24 glaive, 28 prot pants and 52 blade
• levelled by hand at least once a day from 32 - 52
• Regained full 7th Degree garment set (my favourite)
• caught up with, and overtaken friends
• lost no amount of sleep
• retained a great relationship
• found a cookie
• earnt independantly. a total sum of 185mil gold, including assets, completely legitimately

thats how I stand, this very moment, if anyone wants to chat or have fun with me in Xian, pm Kezzik, I'm taking grinding easy for now and will be happy to come visit people!

my further plans are to get to 64, and push back my masteries to 9 gap, finish off my SP farming, which I'm already beginning to get to, the shut gap again, hit the cap and spend a lot of time helping any and every union member I can.

throughout my journey of 9 gapping, I faced capped poppers, abusers, harassers, bots and idiots, I persevered through all of it and have been rewarded by a fat tub of nostalgia by it all, however, I do not wish any gamer to have to put up with what I did throughout that time.

Couldn't have done it without guildies calling me an ass each time i got an sos drop and dropping their jaws when i levelled a week before they thought i would.

not to mention the excruciatingly painful 2 months the entire union had to put up with me singing and being silly on union chat :]

thats great. But am i missing sumthing. Not all players are botters so arnt these chars "everywhere". Well done for geting to this stage but as far as i no many many people also have made it that far or further. Or is this just to show an example of a not botter and give the game some pride.? if so then yeah good on you

I'm more then half way, in my opinion, I'm higher level then the majority of the active players, therefore I have opportunity in my field of play. whereas low levels you can only grind or run around and get slapped. 'least with 7thD i can take a hit and run with those capped out people, unless its a nuke ;P

speaking of which i joined in a job war this morning before i went to bed (yeah nocturnal ;P) a 7x ally of mine was fighting some guy, just couldnt manage to kill him. i was lookin for people my level, i like a fair fight, but said guy, mid 70's i think decided to come chase me, i survived a flying dragon fly and shot off away from east DW, he followed, higher grasswalk and longer phantom, he was going to catch me if i kept running.

i was just getting to the large rock just before demon horses, so I decided to fake a run around, went past and did a blatantly obvious turn.

he thought he was being smart and ran round the other way, me watching him do this instantly turned again and shot off back to east gate

dem = win \o/

I don't min the long grind as long as my friends are around and I have the opportunity to do other things, which was why a 9gap at 30 was so annoying, nothign else to do.

you get more sp per level, drops are better etc, most would agree, I dont mind either way, when i 9 gapped at low levels, i still progressed through levels fairly quickly, so it wasnt so bad in itself, despite the bots and morons

theresa difference between botting and playing with the bot, when i tinkered with it it was in an area isolated, heck i was sitting there poking it constantly, bots were around and those who seemed to be players i talked to.

Wow, Dem and a bot. Never thought I'd see the day. Great legit accomplishments I guess, but now I have a bitter taste in my mouth. Always figured you to be one of the last people to cross over, but I guess you found a way to step just enough over the line to get juiced without having to abandon your self-image. A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down, eh?
