Perhaps you have a slow connection? Or are on WiFi? Either that or something is seriously hogging up your bandwith.

Probably you're downloading a file, or someone on your network is.

Here, try this:
http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

Internet speed test.

My upload speed is abysmal when juxtaposed with my download speed.

I would have expected them to be at least remotely close.

Upload speed on consumer-level cable and DSL lines is always much lower than download speed simply because the vast majority of customers have no reason to need fast upload, and so the network is not optimized for it. I have heard that DSL gives slightly better upload speeds than cable, and there are always premium packages and commercial-level deals that can give much higher upload speeds, but they cost quite a lot.

I think I posted this link somewhere here before but atm all I can do is log on to stall or chat cus playing = lag death until my ISP fixes it :banghead:

So sorry if I'm not in Pacific for a few days :( and now I'll never catch up to Kitty's level haha :P

Sometimes when i'm lagging especially bad, I usually check my firewall and notice that i'm getting spammed with packets from the nederlands or china. I usually reset my modem to get a new ip from the isp and it fixes itself for a while. Maybe you should try that. Also, any upgrades to your system are helpful too.
