I tried Itunes, and yes it works great. Just that I'm not getting the hang of it, yet. Is there any graphic equalizer mode in ITunes? if so where? I like listening music with the correct frequency or else I get very cranky.

as for winamp, bugger crashes too, but haven't tried prioritizing it (and media player) in the task manager. might work...
By the way, this is somewhat off topic... how do I play in window mode if my keyboard doesn't have a window key? I can't do the [window]+[alt]+[enter] trick...

erm, change keyboards? all the new keyboards have the window key, even the cheapest of the cheap
I turn Winamp on, put a playlist in or a webradio ... and get ingame and play ... and if I want to change something I just ALT + Tab there ... I am also quite sure there should be some "global hotkeys" ... so you can stay ingame and skip the track, pause etc etc
I never liked window mode for such things, I need a fullscreen to enjoy a game
