Total BS! - Another Troy acct stolen
One of the senior members of my guild lost his account today. They were able to change the pass and email. That means they got the account name, and secret question somehow. Yesterday a noob character was asking a guild mate about him too, what was his level, did he have sos, etc.
He didn't d/l anything so don't start with the 3rd party/keylogger stuff. He's smart enough not to go to any of the scam websites too.
I've been informed everyone was kicked from the guild except me as I'm the leader and the asshat intends to ebay the account.
To my guildmates; I'll reinvite you later today.
To the person that was hacked; I'm so sorry and will get you up and running immediately through the use of my other account or gold and gear to start you out.
People make sure that if you start a new account your secret question is difficult and that you use an email address just for SRO and nothing else. Too bad you can't change the question or answer.
Anyone know how to stop the account from being used? Contacting JM or trying the wrong PW too many times?

How does some random person figure out the secret Q and A? This has happened to me in another game, and it turned out the fucken guy was someone I knew in RL.
Sorry to hear bout the BS. This is the type of person I can HONESTLY say I wish would get hit by a train. If he can hack someone and Ebay the account without remorse, he's a horrible person. Time is money. Time is money...and your homie just lost a WHOLE lotta time.

you need someone's account name and email. It will then ask you the secret question. Many of the questions are simple (like what's your favorite food).
I can't answer how the info was found out, or what he believes happened, he's not happy right now.
I do know he never botted or used 3rd party programs (VERRRY slow leveling), to my knowledge he never shared his account, he's an adult and computer savvy.

Within one week two nice helpful people get hacked- pinnokio and Hito, really makes you wonder who is behind this if just random or it's someone they know or what![]()
Another dissapointing day
I'm soooo pissed right now, and I can't even go home to reinvite people in the guild for 7 hours. I've got some gear, gold or an account for him if he wants to come back.

And get his or her money back.
Secret Answer is the icing on the cake, once the ID and PW are found, the email is in the profile... Your best protection is a strong password (often changed), strong secret answer (pray it never reaches this point), and an email address no one knows.
This is a free game and when first registering to test drive the game, most people don't bother to secure their accounts.

they can get your email from SRF
and get your full name through xfire
and to get the secret question Myspace
Just search google for "pinokkio silkroad" and look at how many results you get. I'm sure one of his email is laden in one of the pages the results gave.
