I hear all these horror stories of people getting their accounts stolen by in-game hackers. Today, I found someone who was selling a SoS Steel Shield +2 with BR of 15 for 950,000. So of course, I buy it via personal exchange. But then after a little bit of chatting with the guy he offers me a free pair of SoM Calvary Hose. So of course I do the exchange (As we did for the shield.) and I get it. I have not downloaded anything concerned to SRO or given my password to anyone. Should I be worried that this guy could hack me, get his stuff back, and take all my stuff?
While on topic of hackers, what are the main way to avoid hackers?

Strange to hear that you change pass frequently, but you don't know where to change. lol =p
A reason why SRO never improved, it came from our beloved SRO seniors.
Had given my account to my Guildmate, raising a new char.

I change it at work every 30 days, not on SRO. I haven't even been playing SRO for 30 days.

When you play games like SRO, sometimes you forget about compassion.
That's not always true. For example, in my Guild, we each buy each other weapons and such. For example, my friend knew I was looking for a Rune Lunar Blade +3 with a nice Crit and some STR on it. He found me a +3 with STR 4 and Crit of 10 and bought it for me. And if I ever find him a nice Holy Lord's Sword that's better than his SoS +3 I'll get him that too.

Hacking does happen. I use 3 spyware removal programs (That I run daily.), 1 firewall (Which is paid for, not a crappy free one.), a router, I never download stupid crap and I've still gotten hacked. Sure, it's rare as all heck, but it does happen. I'm not sure about SRO's security measures and such, thus is why I was asking. I do know they have a hacking prevention system, but I also know that hackers work 24/7; Devs don't.

I read that last night while browsing their site trying to change my password. However, I was not asking about that. I was asking if it was possible to hack via some in-game way. (If SRO devs, have not developed a system to prevent hacking from in-game measures.)
On a more... specialized note to all those who replied, I am not a 13 year old who plays 14 hours a day and doesn't understand how things work. I am currently employed full time with Nextel Partners. I drive a brand new Pontiac (No, not a Lexus or anything. I wish I was one of those big dogs though.

Other day in Donwang (Red Sea) some guy was spamming that he was giving away a lvl8 SoM sword so I told him I'd take it and sure enough he gave it to me. I wondered the same thing.. is this some scheme for getting at my account info? Hopefully not..
Anyhow I sold that thing in Jangan for 500K real quick and haven't lost my account yet =o
Perhaps some bot operators feel bad about raping the economy so they give rare stuff away on occasion.. who knows.
