Final Cap?
I got a good friend investigating SRO's future at the moment. He's been frequenting the Korean version's websites and doing some translation...as well as other sites...He's letting me know that the end cap seems to be 120 with additions and expansions (kinda like WoW) following the end cap...Anyone else out there heard of anything pointing towards this?..
If this is true then no more farming? no more mind numbingly hand grinding? no more...dare I say it...botting?...lol

There's gonna be botting no matter what lol, but yeah that sounds about right. People have been saying 120 cap will be the final cap for a while now, way back since 70 cap the word was 120 cap.
I think they're comin' out with more races though I dunno. If they do that means even more farming. xD

120 should be the final cap. D11 is 101, and its known that D12 is the last degree, so i bet its on cap 120.

There was a press release a while back stating that Joymax was looking into developing SRO 2, which would aim to fix a lot of the problems of SRO. We know for sure there will be a 120 release due to D12 elixirs and the Jupiter Temple mobs (up to level 120) scheduled for a later kSRO update.
As for bots, they will remain until Joymax finds a way to stop their method of auto-training (packet injection.. idk?). Of course, there have been some rumors (and screens of some pk2) that Joymax has been developing a bot of their own, similar to how some versions of SRO have auto-targeting for mobs.
That said, I find myself sucked back to SRO time and time again. There really isn't any game that comes close to this style of play (both good and bad - the grind is so bad). I maintain that the 60 cap was the best level cap, as players were more friendly back then. You also had fewer botters because it was easy to hit 60, and the item mall had only recently been released on iSRO.

I feel exactly the same way, ever since the beginning and when I first stopped playing I have been attracted to the game on a monthly basis... I feel like I need to go and check things out and I usually end up doing that every so often.
For me personally, it's the atmosphere in the game, the graphics, and the music/sounds. It's just such an immense combination of unique patterns that make SRO for me. Time and time again people like you and me say "shame... real shame" but it really is.
Just like you said, I've always said that it's not hard to develop some kind of tool or implementation that would completely render bots useless. Everyone with a basic understanding of a computer's posibilities and the power of manipulating them through programming understands that it's possible. But they just simply don't do it, and that alone really makes me feel disgusting to put it lightly. I feel absolutely disgusted with them for being so greedy. I've personally always said "it's at a point of no return" ever since the 70 cap time. Too much income from botters, take them away and the income drops huge amounts. I guess that is also why players like you and me are still sometimes pulled to the game, because somehow deep inside we understand their situation - they just had to act earlier and now it's too late for anything to happen.
If JoyMax actually releases SRO2, then I am confident that it will be bot-free, I don't see them making this mistake again because I think they realized how much potential the game has, even in its current state its still mega popular and it always has been. It's possible of course that I'm completely wrong here and that Joymax will do the exact same thing for income. But the state of their forums and their image in the outside world is just disgusting, utterly disgusting, so I doubt it.
We're just going to have to wait and see, but I will always be lurking that's for sure, even though I've played many different games in the past years

It isn't so much as the existence of bots but the population of bots. And Silkroad Online is one of those MMORPGs that is horribly destroyed by it.

Sad to say Bots will indeed stay aslong as Poeple are lazy and greedy bots will stay. and aslong as they want to be the best at any costs. Only way for JM to fix it is either throug programing or to reign with a iron fist *( please joymax let me!!!! i'l show you how!!! )* but 120 Cap end sounds good to me 150 would be to insane for me!

Well if 120 is the final cap then we can all breath a sigh of relief from grinding for levels and skills....The only thing that would be left to grind for is better gear...so I suppose this isn't the end of botting....
On the brighter side though we can see a lot more community activity since once you reach the final cap there's nothing else to do but PVP...Fort war, CTF, Cape, Battle Arena etc....I can see Joymax finding ways to keep people playing..

I'm sorry to break your dreams, BuDo, but it's not gonna be the end of bots. Botters will keep creating new chars, keep farming gold, keep farming sp etc. It's not gonna end, lol.
Also, some head of the Joymax company wrote a long time ago (back in 2007/2008) that the cap would be 140 or 150, can't remember. It was in an interview with mmosite or something.
Who knows, this Silkroad version might end at 120, and Silkroad 2 will continue and make it 150. It might be possible

If you take a look at some skills. Bard particulary.
I think 120 cap is the final cap.
European will have every skill maxed out. Cuz they either go in 4 6 10 or 15 lvls.
Its true that 150 has the same ideas, but if we take a look to dance and tambours.
on 120 tambours and dances will be 50% exactly.
So i think that joymax will probably keep the cap @ 120 and just add new expansions / races. just like with 11D

Well it was said that the max mastery was gonna stay at 300 and look at it now. Anything can happen.

Yeah, they are, after all, just a company. And they can change their plans at any time. I guess nobody will never be able to find out what's gonna happen in the future. Joymax can as well change their plans

Lol.

And about these Tambours, they can just set the max lvl for Tambours at 120 and the other skills could still be upped. You don't need to up it always with your lvl.
