New "Location" Servers
New "Location" Servers
As going on from now the server list at the starting page there is two extra tabs one being a ping slot and the other says location. At the moment it doesn't seem much point as every location is Korean but this has to mean they would be adding in servers that will be based in most likely Turkey and then America wouldn't it?

Nifty. I wonder if they'd allow people a free character jump to a server that is closest to their country of origin...

That would be nice, but then they'd have to find a way to resolve naming conflicts. It would also introduce imbalances on new servers so I doubt it would happen.
I can see how it would be advantageous for new players that are on slow connections, not that sro uses much bandwidth anyways. Other than that... don't see the point.

Im sure JM would do server transfer thing cuz of this, but not for free

I use to play Final Fantasy Online and the probability of having a successful server transfer isn't complicated and is easy to produce. Name conflicts is easily fixable. If your name is already taken on the server you wish to transfer, the game would force you to rename your charater(s), otherwise you will not be able to transfer.
The issue of imbalance on new servers wouldn't be an issue if you restrict transferring to any new server(s) for a pending amount of time. Such as waiting for the server to mature. Too many SoX items on one server? Restrict the possibility in transferring SoX items. Only allowing regular items.
Gold inflation? Not a problem. The game is already inflated. Concerning of new servers that have matured and aren't inflated, then restriction of gold amount on transfer can be administered. You can put a lot of restrictions on anything to make sure a server isn't potentially imbalanced - possibly even removing the possibility of transferring gold. The advantage of transferring to another server allows you to play with people you couldn't have before. Or to populate a underpopulated server (when merging servers isn't the right choice)
Although is this going to happen? Doubt it. But Joymax could charge 25 USD just like Square Enix (potential money!). Placing a 90 days restriction on any follow-up transferring to remove the potentiality of trafficking of items from one server to another. There's lots of ways to make this idea happen.
I'd imagine the foolproof way to stop imbalance is forcing people to transfer naked
Re: New "Location" Servers
I agree with the above post i'd so transfer to a usa based server. It would beat my 350 ping to about 100-190ping. Smoother gameplay it would be like a dream come true considering all i get are ping spikes.
I've been through all the connection checks and strong as ever for some reason the route between me and korea is pretty poor.

Re: New "Location" Servers
Even though a USA connection would be nice, I can play SRO on my phone's internet (wifi) even whens its a GPRS connection (basically 1G for stupid ppl), so I dont find any delays. Now if we go back to ECSRO.....that was a different fukin story, but that wasn't a ping issue, that was fukin shitty servers
Re: New "Location" Servers
Would be nice if you were able to choose your connection, so you dont have to deal with problems that happened a couple of years ago. When the under sea cables were cut off and half the world couldnt communicate with asia/Korea.
And as usual, everyone blamed Joymax for not being able to play SRO at that time..
