A Dilemma Regarding Skill Points

Post by Destruction »

Hey guys, it's Gerald again.
I've been playing sro for 4 years and my highest on iSro is level 60. Yep, pretty low, but I have tested every possible build and I'm pretty experienced, but one thing i can't get over is skill points. Every time I make a character, I play it up to a point where I lack skill points. Not a little, but so much that i have like 3/4 the required skill, which all of them arent maxed to their level. I love it when I have enough skill points for the build (so would everyone, I know...) so that I don't need to worry, but heres the problem.

I don't know why, but I can't seem to level up to 100 legit AND, farm my own character using legit ways. Any advice from anyone, or even anything to make me feel better? Coz farming at bandit stronghold seems to take ages!!!!!! xD

Ongs/Huns powerfarm by an 85+ bard /wizz you can get over 1m sp in 1 month with sp ticket and prem. Afterwards you can get powerlvled until 80 or so and than you play ...and get capped...

Lol, nice way to "play" the game. Standing/Sitting around somewhere until you are lv.80+. Sounds quite interesting. xD

And seriously you can easily get to lv.60+ FF in less than 3 months without farming before and without spending money, if you know, how to play the game and have some good friends for pts around. xD

thanks for the replies guys, but my point is that i dont have a char to plvl myself, and no one is willing to help. Also, i am capable of reaching the 60+ with ease legit, but hey where the hell is the sp???

sadly that is the problem for everyone who plays this game legit. You have to balance your gap with your SP expenditure, and that means leveling at a slow pace. Usually keeping a 4 gap while leveling will allow you to gain enough sp to keep your 4 gap until you are capped (I'm not sure about this, maybe 5 gap is necessary for some builds etc.) but of course that means leveling slower than having a 0 gap.

Another way is to farm periodically on a 9 gap and then close to a 0 gap and blast through the levels and repeat, but keeping a 4 gap is probably the best way

EDIT: Of course, powerfarming is always the BEST way ;]

You should probably open a gap then and farm some SP. In a good pt it's still quite fast even with Gap 5. And doing Gap 9 in a pt with experienced pt members is not such a big problem either. When you are done with it and just decide to continue with lower gap for a while, your leveling speed will be really fast. On some days i even did like 2-2.5 levels in lv.50+ after closing the gap. And while i was farming with my mates i got like 3-5k SP each day. I did that for around 2 weeks and had 80k SP. I didn't use premium or other silk items btw. So, not really a big deal to get a lv.60 farmed character.

But i agree on ISRO it's quite hard to farm SP on that way, as there are barely any pts in that level range and if there are pts, they are not really good. So you should rather do this with some friends and you'll be fine.

And in higher levels, when the partys are getting even better due to better skills, equipment etc. it should be even easier to farm SP. Killrate is increasing quite a lot with lv.70/80+ on Roc Mountain, if you have a good spot with your pt.

There is nothing you can do as a legit which will make it not seem so hard except for finding some fun people to play with. This will take your mind off the grind. Also play only 2-3 hrs a day and not everyday. Balance your SRO playing time with something else. People who spend nearly all their free time playing SRO legitimately are the ones who end up quitting because its easy to notice the long hard grind that way. They're busy putting in all the hours and noticing very low results. That's what discourages them.

if you can grind like you say you can and you need a plvl char heres my solution:

lvl 90 xbow with these skills:
-all of your posion series (minus vein circle)
-cross bow expert tree- max
-crosbow tree- max (except rapid shot)
- i think with those skills sp requirement is around 225,000(+/- 1k)

sp from 1>90 0 gap--223,009
and thats pretty damn close for 0 gapping to 90, you might have to 1 gap few lvls

AND BOOOMOFOKINYAAAH insta powerleveler... well not instant but "fastest"
Check it out

So the closer the average level of your party is to the mobs you are grinding on, the more exp/sp you will get?

not really more exp. when the average pty lvl is below the lvl of the mob you get 2x exp/sp when a pty mob is killed. not regular mob. thats the only thing that changes your exp

what he said..

or even make a lvl 80-90 bard for farming..just get teh 3 nukes..speed..and noise for lvling..maybe even tambours for partying..

the sp cost is actually ok if your only doing 1 class...its when you try to max 2/3 trees that you have to farm.

so either make a xbow/bard for farming ^_^

or you could always have a 2-3 gap all the way.

btw what build are you doing? if your doing chin..focus on 2 trees..

Thanks again guys, but still...
I was expecting some more detail things, as the things you listed are mostly "newbie stuff" (no offence =P).
I can't seem to settle on a build that is not a one hit killer, or one that can be one hit killed.
Ice/Light/Spear seems pretty good but something seems boring about it...
Are there any builds that are fun to play and you can't get bored of playing?
I really don't like bow, just to say.

Even if you tried every single build lvl 60 in 4 years just sucks, you shouldn't bother farming for 100 or 110 or what ever.

Get powerfarmed. Here's what I did;
-Farmed 1,4m sp @ ongs. My guild leader started new char and invited me to go with hem. (Yes, he botted.)
-Then just lvl up. In the time I reached lvl 64 he was 90. When i reached 75, he was 100. Now i'm 92. And still legit :) .

Lol, you are pfarmed by a bot and still call yourself "legit"? What a fail...

For me being legit means not using any illegal problems directly or indirectly (using them through other players). There is no big difference actually, if you run the bot, that is pleveling you by yourself or if someone else does it for you.

Too bad that's your definition. As long as he didn't log his char with any other program than the original client, he's legit to the game.

He didn't ask for your point of view of being legit. For him, he's still legit, so whatever you say doesn't matter. If you are going to put some hubris then keep it for yourself. He hasn't used any illegal programs on his character and didn't have the intention SO HE IS STILL LEGIT.

Well, he still abused the game mechanics and he used illegal programs, not by himself, but others did it for him. Every true legit would say, that this isn't legit anymore, but probably all, who defend him, are just a bunch of wanna-be's, who don't know the real meaning of being legit. According to your definiton, i could just pfarm and plevel a character to lv.80/90+ by a bot, as long as i don't use it by myself. Isn't that just ridiculous? It doesn't matter, who runs the bot, the result is the same. As a conclusion you shouldn't make a difference there, as you can't even notice it in the result. Therefore a bot-pleveled character is considered a bot for me and i will treat him like a bot and not like a real person.

This is what is known as a "dichotomy". If he did NOT use the illegal program, no one else can "use them for him".

As for those who say he is still legit, it is simply this. Powerleveling is allowed. Botting is not. He is getting the powerlevel, but is not doing the botting, therefore by Joymax's definition, warped though it is, he is technically "legit".
