Wizard

Post by ownedpl0x »

Hey, I used to play this game a couple years ago (right when Euros were introduced) and barely played the character. I quit shortly after that. Now I'm trying it out again and I'm trying to do a wizard... my only problem is I can't grind. What happens is I can manage to 1 hit mobs my own level but as soon as a giant comes around I'm screwed. I die so fast every time and it's not even fun. I have to kill mobs liek 6 below my level to stay out there for an hour without dieing. How do you solo a wizard? Are there certain mobs that I should be grinding on? And how do you handle giants? I know the point of euros is to like party up and work in groups but I don't know anyone my level to do that with, bots everywhere :\

Not much you can do. Don't aim for giants, run around them. It's not that hard to avoid them... they are you know, big and giant-like. It's easy enough if you play by hand.

Its easy to spot them but not really easy to run away.
Especially the really HUGE ones...
U end up clicking them while trying to click the floor.

as a wiz, u never need berserker unless your in pty play. your already overpowered so using it while you solo is just overkill. instead, use it to run from giant mobs or pty mobs

you wont stand a chance lvling a wiz alone, try to get in a guild, through a taxi or some sort, thats how usually noobs socialize.

also, you could consider the possibility of playing a diff build for your first char, just lvling alone and than joining a guild, so than you can pt with others.

The first and probably the best tip is to get a wolf. If a giant comes after you, send the wolf on it and run away to a safe distance.

3 good defensive skills for giants are Lightning shock, Charged wind and Root. Get them, or at least the first two. Also Earth barrier is a must. Even if you find the invisibility skill useless (because of people altering their game to see you anyway), get the first level of it so you can sneak past at areas that are a bit too much.

Grind on mobs that you can two hit by using Ice and Fire bolt (always start with ice). You'll never have to worry about your mana running out either when using these two nukes. The Ice/Fire bolt combination is fast and it should keep you from getting hit. When the zerkbar is full, don't use it on a giant unless you know you can handle it but rather go after the normal mobs and you can then also put to use your aoe skills more safely and effectively. It is as good xp wise as going after a giant.

If you are grinding on mobs that doesn't spawn giants or champions, you can use Life control. I wouldn't recommend it otherwise. Don't bother about mobs that have range skills, since you'll always then get hit at least once between your nuking.

Bard or cleric sub? With cleric sub you can easily take on giants and with bard sub you can safely grind in areas where the mobs are aggro.

The key to handling giants alone is to avoid them. What level are you?

Hi - thanks for feedback

I'm level 24 now. I guess I didn't really think about the whole 'always trying to get away' thing, I figured there was something I was missing to get them dead.

1Just avoid giants, pimp your gear to the point that you can take atleast 1 crit from them. Run hard :P so get speed pots or bard sub.

2Use a wolf for when a giant spawns, easy to do.

3If you use a cleric sub, get recovery division and LA + cleric passives ( if you grind at phy mobs).

4If you are strong enough bless+zerk kill the giant, if bless runs out you still have earth fence.

5Learn weapon switching to heal yourself constantly with healing cycle ( works wonders)

6Get a decent shield that you can equip if things get nasty.

7 Wizards have plenty of roots that work on mobs

8 grind on a place without giants :D

9 Grind as much as you can at magic mobs ( get robe :p).

Wizards are plenty of easy to grind, you just need to pay more attention and get good gear.

wiz hand grind tips.
1. Stay on green mobs, even if the partnering mob of the area is blue, stay there till the green is gone.
2. get a wolf.
3. avoid life control/turnover.
4. only use single target nukes fire and ice. only use earth if you are getting gankedand the same with the aoe light nuke, thats good to kb some mobs and run.
5. use bard sub, you get speed and you avoid getting ganked by aggro mobs. what good is hving high defence if you get ganked by aggro mobs all the time.
6. be patient.
7. if you dont like it, become a sword/shield light ice nuker.
