Re: Sales management: Joymax - Silkroad 1o1
Its simple JM isn't going to run out of players and fix everything for us, most people here are just hoping it happens, I myself was too, but when I logged on I realized it isn't happening. There are way too many people buying silk for magic pop and stuff. Most high level (70+) Egyptians/Kuwaitis/Turks spend $20 a month minimum. Now that's just the minimum a good amount of them spend more then $500 a month. With 30+ servers and over 300 good silk buyers on a server they aren't gonna be running out of business any time soon.
Msg for lockerz invite.

Well aside from hosting the games, and the game websites, they surely get money from licensing these games (at least SRO) to other companies - the likes of vSRO, tSRO, and the like. Item Mall. I haven't noticed lately, but is there any hosted advertising on joymax.com for other companies? They'd get ad revenue for that. Perhaps funding from local investors in Korea, etc.
Missing the good times in SRO...
SRO:
1x, STR Blader (Thebes)
54, STR blader (Venice)
0x, INT wizard (Venice)
19, INT spear (Venice)
34, STR rogue/bard (Venus)
0x, STR blader (Venus)
8x, INT bard/cleric (Gaia)

As well as subsidies from the Korean Gov't.
Maddening

Your response still doesn't cover some important factors. If SRO was a test project or Joymax had to re-strategise their business plan to what it is now due to mistakes they've made early in SRO's release, then how can they maintain profitability by partially blocking new members from entering their servers to play? (Partial blocking = the inability to log on timely). Why is it that 90 percent of the accounts aren't real players but are instead gold bots that are leeching the game? This doesn't make business sense. If this is a test project then they shouldav pulled the plug long time ago.
Frankly I think SRO was designed to last indefinitely. I don't think it was meant to be short term. It's been 5 years and still going. 5 years of planed and predetermined releases (Higher lvls, Euros and possibly an Arabian race update). A look at the client file like some people do will show whats coming next. Plus the patterns of each level cap (1 increase per year) shows that this wasn't just some test project.
