Ice bladers, Ice bowers, force was used a lot more, dual weapons were Teh Shiz and there were very few people using the technique. It was quite a game 3.5 years ago = ]

Re: Level 60 Cap question to old school players
Not too many Force users afaik.
Ice was very common though, especially before Autopot came. Though, at the 70cap Ice became less frequent as people started to notice a damage difference and the pvp utility was pretty much gone.
There were some people that could use a dual build well, and they were good. The rest were just bad with it.
I think it would've been more fun if the Viets weren't banned since many of them were really skilled. There were big viet-guilds and stuff.
Sure, some found them annoing but don't even compare them to the týrks (no offence any turk that may be reading).

But if you think about it, a dual build at 60 cap MUST have been really cool especially
sword/spear up against blade/glavie, wonder which would win...

Re: Level 60 Cap question to old school players
At least on Aege, everyone comment's here was WRONG.
60 Cap was about single builds. Pure STR or Pure INT, not dual weapon. There was no item mall and no gold ticket. It took so long for people to even have enough SP for 2 trees never mind for dual weapons
Obviously some of these people didn't actually play 60 cap.
When new servers came out, like Troy and Oasis, the most popular build was Pure INT. And only 2 Trees. Lightning and Heuksal, so they didn't have to gap and even heuksal wasn't leveled much except for ghost spear. SP Farming was a bitch back then.
Also the lag was a bitch also. Lots of lag, majority of 60 cap was about the lag. There was massive number of Aege players quitting right before the 70 cap coming out who quit. I remember about half of the union, guild members I knew quit because of the lag, even though they just reached level 57.
When 70 cap came out, majority of players were still using low level imbue, if they were STR. Very few people had the level 45 Imbue. It was until bots came out and the item mall that you saw dual builds.
The first person on Aege server to have all 4 trees, Heuksal, Fire, Light and Ice was Fujishiro, and that was cause he grinded only forever.
The second person to do so was the leader of TAIWAN guild, same build as Fujishiro and that was cause he botted, as he was a Taiwanese player who was bored, already had a level 90 at the time.
At the start of 70 Cap on Aege, there was only ONE player who had all 4 trees up to level 57+ since Fujishiro went to Oasis server and the Taiwanese players all quit. After that, Aeacos or whatever name was the only one fully farmed up to 60, hell even at 70 cap for long time was the only one. He grinded with 5 gap all the way. Wasn't until later players like WinterFreeze during the 70 cap became fully farmed. And yeah WinterFreeze wasn't dual weapon neither was Aeacos, just one weapon. Both Heuksal even though one was INT and other STR. Still no hybrids except for Wind.
It wasn't until botting and CCFing in Heaven and Nighthawk guild got insane that you really started seeing dual weapons.
It was impressive to see some nukers using the level 56 Fire Bomb, Xnoob, was first I saw it. And even then he didn't have the 52 lightning grass speed at the time.
So no, there were almost no dual weapon builds, there wasn't enough time for most people to farm up enough SP. Getting to level 60 was a challenge enough.
And yes Ice was effective. People were well aware of the difference in damage between fire and ice. It did not take us til 70 cap to know that. We knew that even in the ALPHA stage of the game. There were so many translated build guides and videos from Korea, whole series of tournaments.
In those korean tournaments, before the alchemy came full swinging ice bladers and ice archers won.
Same in iSRO, ice archers were very effective. And Ice Bladers, like Voodoo and TAIWAN's blader were impossible to kill on a one on one, even 2 on one.
60 cap was interesting. No alchemy. No item mall. It was purely based on your build, whether you were hybrid or pure. And also on how well you were SP farmed.
To be honest, on Aege for a long time there was only ONE blader who even used knock down and stabs during PvP and he was some player in Sacred Guild on some affiliation. At that time everyone just chained forever, btw he was one of the few bladers to use fire also.
But the biggest difference between now and then was the job wars. DreamZ vs Server, Taiwan vs Server, Realms and Xitusengal whatever else. I remember every day, for months there would be massive job wars in front of Hotan and DW lasting literally for 4-6 hours at a time. The last time I remember something like that happening was 70 cap on Aege. But then I did quit at 80 and did not see 90 or 100.

I was going force myself, with glaive and Blade. fire and light. the cool thing about force was that during trades, you could make a therapy circle and thief's would not attack xD.

Re: Level 60 Cap question to old school players
I was an ice bower at 60 cap, I would of stayed ice prolly, but since everyone just gets immune it was pointless ¬.¬, but it was fund while it lasted.
Don't remember many duel builds on Xian, just normal str/int single weapons.

Yep, as far as xian goes, the most common was ice bladers and ice bowers, both full str. I actually don't remember seeing dual builds until 80 cap.

Anybody else remember no-pot pvp '~,o?

We should stop treating people like objects, or at least treat our objects with more respect.
Re: Level 60 Cap question to old school players

pure int fire,ice,light 60

Haha, yeah!
Those sure were the days... no pot pvp
But afaik no-pot pvp was only during the lowlevels, 40+ would use pots.
