Odd.

Post by rathidragon »

I used to play SRO quite some time ago and decided to download it again. It had been two years since I last played it and I wanted to see what had changed. I downloaded the game on Wednesday, installed it on Thursday, and haven't been able to log in. Is this a common problem? If so, why? And why does the client keep making a chime noise and saying that it is "...Requesting user confirmation..."?

Has the game really degenerated into this?

If your referring to server traffic, yeah its got worse. Its not unusual to be trying to log on for over 5hours.

Ya it's normal. Logging in without premium is almost impossible. It can take hours before you log in.

Dear G-d...
I remember getting impatient after 5 minutes.
Is there a good reason for this to happen?

Goldbots, bots, stallers, alt chars. Basically people having more than one char logged in, takes up the slots in the server. Goldbots obviously having the greatest effect.

Good reason? Definitely not.
Bots have overrun the servers and even if you do login then there are tons of bots almost everywhere. If you play euro you'll be fin until Hotan around lvl 42. If you play Chinese you'll be fine until around lvl 20. After that bots have covered alot the areas where you can grind. There are still spots where you can grind but, they either don't have good spawn rate of give you a status effect like zombie etc.

I would play a different version of sro like tsro or csro. They are the Taiwanese and Chinese sros. There are guides to registering in the "Other SRO versions" section. These have no bots, no traffic and there are some communities that english players have established.

There is also a sro "private server" coming out soon known as esro which is supposed to be an improved version of the current international sro without bots etc. All I can tell you is that it's coming out soon.

I wish you luck.

Yes it is.Because people selfish need to be rich and use their own gold bot/staller char.
Because it try to connect you every 15 sec.
