People gettin scammed

Guys I noticed a lot of people are getting scammed now a days. Like today some lvl99 blader got hacked and no one had his info, there is a virus or something, my friends told me on their servers many people got hacked who didn't share a account and no1 had their info. Any ideas how this is happening? I think there might be a virus in a third party program or something.

Yeah all of those people who say they got hacked without giving out their account info to anyone probably at some point downloaded a patch, third party program, or the SRO game client itself from a site like http://www.IHackYourSROAccount.com/warez/hack/SRO/gimmeURaccount/thisisahack.exe

It's not just 3rd party programs that are the problem. I've even seen people on these and other forums posting threads about not being able to download the game client for whatever reason. Then someone often responds with another link with an IP address that just so happens to be from some random country (Germany, USA, Somalia, etc) saying you can download the client from there. The link might be to the poster's home computer or something off of their ISP. The client may be legit, but it may not be.

Do you really trust http://24.142.119.5/pub/games/installer ... urrent.exe? (made up IP address, may or may not exist).

I always stick to downloading game clients from the actual game company's website, or from mirror sites that are linked to FROM the game company's site.
