I think you missunderstand someting, the game is really not boring, but making your char, even if you play 24/7 wich is impossible in legit ways is taking too long.

That is a poorly formed opinion and not a fact though. Just remember that.

Taking long like no mmrpg game out there. Its almost taking more than a year to be full farmed and lvl100 even with bot. Then imagine this on legit ways. Look at wow, its more easy to level upp, its not desinged to be grinded until you get craizy, and bots going to be banned over there.

Then play WoW with the rest of us. It is really farked up when you hate a game so much you have to bot to the cap. They need a head shrink for sure. Riddle me this why do you have to be at the cap to have fun? Frankly I had fun till I got to the cap then the game sucked hard.

Most of the guys like me doesnt even care about this problem, I just tell you this things because I hope I can dismiss some missunderstanding about this problem.

I have no misunderstandings, misconceptions, or misinformation on the situation. I have known for a long time that whether you bot or not people like you are part of the problem. It is possible for the comunity to police itself to an extent. But to many people were like you and went eh why should I care. And so between joymax not caring and most of the comunity not caring we are where we are today. Then hypocrites get on and complain that they can't log in but they bear no responsibility. Face it we all failed. Just some of us more than others.

If you think that the botters are some black guys who are keep quiet until they reach max level, and they have to fear from bann then you are wrong. And this is the problem itself that the problem not even existed. If you can enter this game you choose the way how you play it. Legit bot, you can call whatever you want, or you can choose whatever reason to play this game such as friends trades etc... But when you say there is a bot, no matter how you declare yourself it in your mind, the paperform coming from jm, botting is a part of this game,

Basically it means cry, it came from the game Starcraft where Alt+Q+Q was the command to exit the game. So when you were losing and whined, people would respond: "QQ more". Some people use ;_; but most people just use QQ or qq now.

@ ravkin, You are right in saying we can all play the game however we choose. Some choose to lvl, some choose to grind, some chooes to job, while others choose to bot. I choose to play with my lvl 7x and play ctf and random cape pvp at smk all day until I use up my last 10 mil gold on pots and repair.

Joymax has never stated that they condone botting. It is their actions that implies that they no longer have control or care. They don't even show a honest attempt anymore. They just auto ban a few bots and work on opening new servers to rake in as much dough as possible.

I will disagree with you though when you say botting is necessary. It is not. It is optional. Same way hacks in other games are optional. You DON'T have to cheat to play a game. It is up to you if you want to take that road. Yes the grinding and sp is hard to get, but I know a few that have managed to get there without having a bot or powerlvl. It's rare due to the extremely high numbers, but not impossible.

Like I've said before, this game offers a variety of things you can do without a bot. However, for the avg player, it is very difficult for them to be a high enough lvl to enjoy certain parts of the game such as jobbing and FW.

@ ping, How are we responsible for the bot problem? Yeah, we didn't risk murdering botters non-stop. Yeah we want to have friends on OUR servers. Yeah it's OUR fault that someone else can't run THEIR game. From what you're saying, If SRO was a school, it would be the student's fault they didn't learn anything. It would have absolutely nothing to do with teachers or parents. Right..... This game is what it is today because of Joymax. A while back, people were mostly, 75% + on old servers, against botters. Than people realized JM didn't give a shit. Now it's just an accepted fact. I hardly think the players are at fault. If someone breaks the law, and the cops don't care, there's not really anything you can do about it.

Options that people do outside the game? How about if you got hacked. According to you, that's ok and it's up to them. If someone decides to exploit a security vulnerability to get an account, then that person is entitled to that option. If you're going to say that botting is an option, and not be a bot supporter, then what are you? A spokes person for the botting association? Stop ass Farking that fence and take a side. Are you supporting as a fact that botting is a valid option?

That's like saying in a game of chess, I can choose to move first playing black. It is a valid option. It doesn't effect the game of my opponent. I'm using this as a simplistic comparison. Just because there isn't an invigilator to enforce the game rules, cheating is still cheating.

Writing that choosing to cheat is nothing. That's like saying it is an option to play with a male or female character. Do you think I'm on the intellect level of a worm to not understand what the definition of an option is. What I'm trying to point out is that some players think that they have to bot, or that it is ok to bot. Botting is seen as a self advancement option, and it is believed to have no consequences. You get away with it then it's fine. Playing an mmorpg is like playing a game of chess, there is someone in front of you. It is an option that effects other people around you.

I prefer name calling in a thread like this. This is a farcical debate, full of participants who bot yet pretend they don't, promote botting yet they say they aren't, say they understand yet they don't.

Well the botters sure seem to run it basically and do you know why? Because you like so many others here obviously decided at some point to accept them and support them. It is a little thing called peer pressure. All of you who accept and support the cheaters are complicit. If there truly was any sort of friendship or respect between them and the actual players any one of you would be able to say "hey man I like you and all but do you have to bot? It makes us all look bad. And we can have fun even if we are not capped." Nope cap is everything to you game be damned. Cap by any means necessary because all of you miss the larger point.

And who are cops? Why they are part of the community as well. Joymax would be like judges and poor ones at that. But even in the face of poor judgement on joymax's part we all as policemen of the community can still have a positive impact if we chose to. You like so many others simply chose not to. - bot affect the environment?

Simple questions, right? that you can answer with a yes or no. But some choose to answer them with long sentences and paragraphs in hope they can cover their bot support identity. But how could they escape from my eagle eyes?

The thing you need to realize is the things you mentioned in real life are optional because there is no rule saying you must do it, AND no rule saying you cannot do it. There are rules in the TOS saying you can't use illegal third party programs. By the 'massive bot bans' Joymax does, it's obvious they consider bot programs to be 'illegal third party programs'. Accounts DO get banned for breaking this rule.

I understand, yes, Joymax hasn't been as highly successful in banning all the bots we'd like, but they do it. If they never banned another person for botting, and unbanned everyone ever banned for botting, then I MIGHT believe that they feel botting is ok.

I'd also leave the game forever.

I suppose in a sense you could say botting is optional in the same way that hacking Joymax's login server is optional. If you get caught, you may pay the consequences. Botting is forbidden, just not enforced as well as some of us would like.

We can either be friends with them and not join them. However, with your views nuclear, we can either join them or just play the game with ourselves and maybe 4 other legits on our servers. I never told anyone to go bot, nor did I ever say that botters has the best life and all should try it. I just simply don't think that botting is that bad. Sure JM bans a few botters, but you all do know why right? It's just a ploy to make newcomers think, "Oh hey, I see botters, but looks like JM is doing their job, guess i'll try and buy some silk since these bots will be gone soon." The thing is, they aren't.

@ Prometh, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If they were truly AGAINST bots, they would be putting more effort. They are just trying to put up a front to trick newbies into thinking this game is ran in a good manner. Sure they said that 3rd party programs are illegal in their TOS, but who says they follow it. I remember them saying at one point that they would actively pursue cheaters and either ban them for a short time or perm when discovered. I also remember GM running around and PMing ppl to see if they actually bot.

You can stay in your happy bubbles and think that all botters are duck-fucking assholes and JM will one day save you, or you can realize that they are now part of the community.

@ ping, sure we could've turned peer pressure against them, but do you think peer pressure is that effective in the good way? I think it also depends on which server you play on. If I played on Venus or some other server, sure I could use peer pressure since the players in control are Legits. I can say, look at how strong legits are, come join us, it's fun and we get to pt together all the time. For an old server like mine with a population of like 10-20 legits left, what would I offer to convince them? Join me, we can be poor together as we grind slowly to cap with the 4 of us? Peer pressure only works when you actually have a group to push your point. If we go back to the original botting problem, there was peer pressure on both sides. Legits had the excuse of the fun to grinding to cap as well as the knowledge that they can't be banned. Botters had the excuse of being capped with fully farmed skills with the risk of being banned. Than JM just stopped caring. Botters now knew that their odds of being banned were slim to none. I've seen people spam globals calling JM pussies for not banning them. They are still here. That probably puts a lot more peer pressure on players seeing as they have the option of botting, still hang out with friends, as well as being ff and capped and rich.

Once again, a game is made to be played. You have the choice to play it however you want. I can choose to play l4d the way it's intended. Or I can run around griefing, or i can run around and spam build models and trap people. HEll, I can even glitch ppl out and cause them to crash on their comp if it's fun for me. A game is meant to be fun. As long as you're having fun, you're doing it right.

It would be an honor if a Mod would come in here and tell us why they stayed legit until they quit this game. Of course, I fully understand if the mods don't wanna join in on this debate as it is pretty messy >_>.
