Someone explain Lightning Chain and if it's fair?

Lighting chain = 3 status..

Bleed lvl 9 (20% chance)
Division lvl 9 (20% chance)
Impotent lvl 9 (20% chance)

When u use lightchain its 6 combo hits..
First hit 20% chance to add one of them (bleed , divison or impotent).. its random witch one will be added first..

each hit have 20% chance to add one status..

If you read on the skill u will understand..
When ur lightning chain is max lvl status lvls will be 9..

So lvl 1 holy spell is useless( only immune vs lvl 8 status )
holy spell lvl 2 is usefull( immune vs lvl 9 status exept bleed)

division = less mag / phy deff -
bleed = less mag / phy deff -- for 30 sekunds
impotent = less mag / phy power -

Im not sure but I think you messed up that part. Division makes you deal better dmg to enemy. I dont know what it actually does it might even be a huge parry ratio decrease. Bleed is like a dot. Similar to burn or poison status just stop at 1hp like poison and cant be removed with pills. Impotent lowers phy defence.

And someone else said the first hit is for bleed, 3rd hit is for impotent, and the last hit is for division...but that doesn't seem right either...since....I get division on mobs maybe....one every 10 chains...but I get bleed maybe...once every 2-3 chains.

So, does anyone know exactly how the chain works or am I missing something?

OT: I'm not sure that it gets rarely on someone (division), chances are same, is it just only bad luck? I cannot really help you, since I've rarely played with Lightning Chain.
As we can see, chances are same for everything.

Anyways from what it seems it might just be bad luck, though from my experience it does seem like the other statuses attach on more often as well.
However you can always try making that your opening attack to see if the ratio of getting division changes because maybe you're killin the mob on the 5th hit sometimes?
As well try not to spam skills. Though this may not be related try just using lightning chain wait a second for it to finish then launch another atttack. Knowing joymax they might have some stupid bug that because you launch the next attack right away, it affects the division being put on. Im not saying this is it, but considering how the knockdown skill can get messed up if you have ice imbue or stun and stuff, its a possibility? =/

I guess it could just be a bunch of bad luck. =P And, as for 4 gapping, I decided to try and 0 gap for most of the game...So, My lightning is 77, and I just raised bicheon from 63 to 73 so I could have the double stab and lightning chain. And, I don't want to re-start the entire game since it's taken me 3 years....literally....to get here....><"

And, I think the one thing that I'm forgetting about that you reminded me of is that I think the division is lvl 6 and bleed is lvl 8....so doesn't that mean it's more likely to have bleed affect a mob than division? (this is my first status attack...so I'm not sure if the level actually matters...oh, and the first book attack (smash?) is lvl 1 still...)

But the 20%'s don't seem to be right from my experiences. That's all I was saying. In other posts in this same thread, people are saying that it's because the chain is interrupted...a party mob (specifically snipers) can't interrupt me. ^^

Give me proof that division is level 6 and how come when I use lightning chain my statuses are completely random. I don't think joymax would put division level 6 on a level 73 skill and bleed level 8 on the same skill.

Also the problem with ressing this topic was there was no need because he could have easily found the answer.
