Hmmm I was arguing with some friends about +ing.They said items can be destroyed when trying +5. It never happend to me and I did lots of +ing on various items. I stood up for my "cause" saying that items can't be destroyed when trying +5. So where's the truth? Please reply.

Items can be destroyed when +ing, not sure when it starts.

I meant from +4 to +5. I know it can be destroyed over +5 like when trying +6 it happend to me

trying +5 is "safe"; u can't destroy the item when trying for +1 +2 +3 +4 +5
Same rule for durability reduce.

I believe it is even in the 'help' from sro

As far as I know, you can't destroy an item while trying for +5. I've made several +5 weapons before without immortal or steady, and even failing many times, they were never ruined.

lol you don't have to act like I'm retarded. I've played this game since early 06 and while +'ing his 52 bow my guildie got a red stat failing 4->5. If I had proof I'd show you but I don't. Why not be safe and use a steady anyway?

I was trying to +5 an item which had 1 steady, I failed from +4 to +5 and the steady gone ... happened to me twice

Having gone through litteraly tens of thousands of elixirs it's safe to say that you do NOT get a red stat OR a destroyed item when you're trying '+4 -> +5'.
Anyone that tells you otherwise is either an idiot, a liar, or got a red stat when in actuality he was trying for +6 but simply miscounted, it's an easy mistake, it happens to everyone
