I think the luck value is on the item, and is based around Durability.

f@ck alchemy men
tried +6 on my 85 chest... gone... 84 legs failed +5 and tried +8 on my shield (no lucky stone and no premium :S )

XD iam a total loser with alchemy
never get to+7 but i tried +7 5 time on spear with astral and immortal
get to+6 and failed
i was easly making +5 last month but this weak is a total mess
cant make +4 right
