It just leaves me feeling so depressed knowing that they just delete characters I spend a lot of time on.

I guess this comes down to "why" you played sro. Did you play to have fun and acquire everlasting memories of happy times, or to simply have your character exist?

Even if they delete your character they can never delete your memories and the bonds you had with the people you befriended. If you ask me, thats what really matters.

Its like pictures hunnie. You have memories, and then you'll have tangible subtances to symbolize or characterize or make you recall the memories. And my char is one of them.

Well i understand where you are coming from and all, i have similar objects in my own life. But if the character is simply a reminder, a "storage device" of memories per say, then create something to mark this occasion. Just in case your character gets deleted, create yourself "the key". Use it as that tangible object, keep it close to you and that way those moments will always be alive in your heart. It will be the gateway to an eternity of memories which can never die.

same with me on alps, havnt touched my first char ever in sro in alps for over a year. Lots of memories there, but all of my friend on alps dissapear so i moved to pacific. No one left on alps so ima stay at pacific.

The reason why I quit is because I've been hacked 3 times and I had to constantly live in a fear that one day I log-on I'll be stripped again. And don't ask me what kind of illegal things to get me hacked >_> Greece was a habitat for this evil dude who hacked everybody (who also had friends who apparantly coded the bot we have today).

Regarding friends with new people...you're totally right but I've come to forgot that feeling. Every server we moved to was the same people, same guilds, and they all left one by one. And recruiting for guild got harder and harder as (I admit) non-botting new players were mostly such assholes.
