Feel lucky, I even can't start SRO, Stupid AVG..
I started SRO; error from AVG
I exitted AVG; SRO didn't start up (SRO_Client was dmged by AVG I think)
I reinstalled SRO; at the end he always shut the installation down and.. no SRO at all

i have d.c each time i use return scroll to go back to hotan to buy pots i hate hotan it is really crowded

This guide i wrote should fix your problems. God knows how many times i've posted this..

I use to freeze every time i went to town, or i use to get the ??? error a lot. So what i did is the following ( screenshots included ) and it solved my problems. Although I typed this all myself I got the info from the technical help section, where you should of gone first.

First of all to fix those pesky dc errors, we do the following. Go into the silkroad folder in the program files, then for each of the four .exe's right click and go to properties. Whilst in properties go to compatibility, and change the compatibility mode to windows 98/me.



Now do this for each of the four .exe’s They are labeled sro_client, replacer, silkroad and SilkErrSender

Now that should hopefully fix the ??? errors, though i chose to do this next step as well as it fixes problems where my computer just freezes when in town. Note the fact that this must be done every time you load up your client. So its best to do it at the character selection screen, as theres no point doing it if your client closes when you fail to log in on the first attempt.

Now when your client is all nice and loaded up, hit the windows key and proceed to use the crtl alt del combination. When at this screen, right click on the sro_client and click on go to process.



Now from here, right click on sro_client.exe, then go to priority, then set it to high as opposed to normal



Now if you have a dual core computer, like myself, you can also set the affinity so it runs off one as opposed to 2. I don’t know the logic behind it, but it fixed my problem. So now once again right click on the sro_client exe and go to Set Affinity, it should be right below the set priority option. From here, click the boxes so just the 1st cpu is clicked.



Now you must do this each and every time you open the client, but it has been a perfect solution for me. I hope it works for you too.

p.s If theres any mistakes someone please say so and ill fix them. Im very tired so i did this without paying too much attention >.<

Over the last couple of days, we've had almost the entire party dc at the same time. Left one or two people alone in high level mobs. Not fun for them. In vent you'd hear "crash" or "dc" from everybody at once. Kinda funny, but not.

We've also had individuals just dc, log back in, dc again minutes later, or someone else dc,.... frequently. Or somebody will dc and get the server inspection error while the rest of us are still online partying.

Another of Joymax's wonderful bugs.
Let's hope they repair it during the server inspection.

i had a random DC in game 3 times today :/
given up now ill just play guitar hero 3

the thing is i run in windowed mode and my internet connection didnt cut off temporarily, SRO just disconnected me randomly :/ my connection was fine because i hadnt been signed out of MSN.

its not that hard delete your avg then restart your pc..
then reinstall your silkroad bam it works agian..
then download AVG 8 and you have back your avg and silkroad working agian...

the problem is the new avg 8.. it sucks.. try something else. there is a lot of free ones.
