Chargeback using paypal

Post by sroaddict »

Hi guys,
This game causes me so much grief that I decide to be done with it once and for all. So I am going to do a chargeback. Does anyone has a personal experience doing this with paypal? I buy silk through paypal with a credit card method. I want to make sure I do it right. Please share, PM me if neccessary.
Thanks

Why would you charge back. Thats lame.
You dont buy GTA in a store, play it for 2 months, then return to the store and say:
Hej, I liked this game but now it gets boring, so can I exchange it?

Its the same principal.

When you do a chargeback, I think instead of just banning you for 100 years, Joymax should throw some lawyers at you too. If someone does a chargeback, they more than likely don't care if their character gets banned because they are done with the game. So hit the player with some fines, law suits, pound-me-in-the-a$$ prison sentences, etc.

Yep, you can get jailed for it, although do what you wish, you can only chargeback payments less than 45 days old.

ok, I gotta explain a bit more then. It is hard to quit this game. I understand it is not right to do a chargeback. I have paid thousand of silks to this game. I am only gonna charge back 50 silk. I think they could afford to lose 5 bucks.

Dont do it, its a waste of time, dont do it over a 60 days over a time, dont do more then 2 transactions. i tried to do some more then 5 and 10+ transactions and they didnt allow it due to not enough evidence, so in my experience. dont do it, its a waste of time

If you were an alcoholic, would you try committing check fraud at your local liquor store so they stop letting you buy from them?

It's stupid to commit fraud just because you can't uninstall the game and stay away from it. And yes, even tho we all know if you buy $5 worth of silk then don't use it and charge it back, it's no big loss for jmax, but you can't use this kind of mentality to solve YOUR problems.

Yeah I'd say if you really don't want to play anymore, just uninstall the game. Then go out to the official website, change your password to something ridiculous that you'll never remember. Change your registered email to something non-existant, or an email that you have no access to.

That way even if you reinstall later, you'll have no access to your account. :)

there are some important details that were left out that prompt me to this decision but I am not going into this. I agree with that you guys said besides Alteran who wishes me rot in hell. That was uncalled for. Anyway, case closes.

Amelie, sorry, I don't want people to know my char. I will leave this game and so what's the point.

just give your account to someone with all the info to change the pw.

as for chargebacks..
good luck.
I had a character hacked last november when the website exploit was going insane.
I tried to chargeback without success, Paypal basically states in their TOS that DIGITAL ITEMS ARE NON DISPUTABLE!

Some have said you must call your bank or credit card company and say it was an unauthorized charge. Tell them yes you have charged in the past, but have since stopped playing the game. Let them know Joymax has had SEVERAL SECURITY issues with user information and its possible your info was compromised.

I'm sorry the game as caused so much grief to you. But honestly this will happen to everyone when they reflect on all the time they spent playing sro, then realizing that all they've gotten out of the game are just good friends and memories. Quitting sro isn't as easy as installing the game, you can always install it again. Its not as easy as deleting your character because you can and most likely will restore it before the 7 days are up. The only sure way to quit is to lose your character that you've spent all your time on sro making, after its gone you will not want to repeat the year or years you spent making it because it wont be worth it. Just do something bad on the forums so Joymax will ban you, but I don't see a problem with you charging back $5 when you probably spent hundreds of dollars on this game :(.

I used to play sro just to talk to my guildmates and friends, I would sit their for hours just chatting in town. Then I realize you can do they same thing outside the game on MSN and other chat services. So stay in touch with all the people you have become friends with over your sro journey, get their email addresses. This way you wont feel like your time on sro was a complete waste.
