I was writing an essay for my English class in my College computer lab, when I saw a guy who later became my friend play it. He was level 27 archer way back in '06. So I asked him how to download it and started playing. Got to level 10 and quit. Then I went to a cyber cafe for 15 hours day pass and got bored of Counter Strike and Battlefield 2, so I decided to download Silkroad in the Cafe and started playing the game. Now I got my laptop and I play frequently.

I was 15 and searching for a new MMO a few weeks after my B-day in 2006. I wanted a free asian themed MMO so I googled Free MMO. I found several; most of which ended up either being in closed beta, shut down, p2p, buy then f2p, or blocked NA ips. I went back to runescape made another level 60 character in a relatively short amount of time, and was aiming for 126. I was getting close to my goal when once again the drive to literally play an ASIAN themed MMO was pushing me forward until i despised Runescape's European themed game play and style. Runescape was all about quest making money and pking, I officially quit runescape on December 13 2006. From there I would once again Google Free MMO and go to the website of the only MMO I didn't check out: Silk Road Online. The reason I didn't check SRO was because the screen shot was the ugliest one I had ever seen for a free game, and frankly I didn't want to play another Runescape. I wanted something hard, something that would challenge me, and something with good quest. I went to the website for the first time in December 28 2006 and saw that FREE2PLAY FOREVER banner, First Thought: "Awesome". So I click the SRO on youtube button and almost shat my pants at all the amazing videos I saw. I read several Interviews one in particular that caught my Eye and sold me to silk road online; The Chinese, European, and Islam civilization interview. The sections on the website about the three races only reinforced My thirst to log in and play SRO. Then when i saw the Second silk road online trailer with the Islam Warrior with daggers doing all those acrobatics I knew I had to be a Islam Warrior Thief that stalked the Silk Road for Gold with only his wits and will to survive dragging him along; I was hooked before even logging in. Around January of 2007 after only reading about the game and looking at videos I settled to download it. I downloaded it and to my surprise could not make an Islamic character OR a European Character, I was pissed. I unistalled the game and didn't look back until my Hunger pangs for an Asian themed MMO broke out again. Late January of 2007 I reinstall settle for Chinese, settle for trader (I was poor), and I was hooked.

I was searching around for free mmo's for awhile back then and I saw SRO. started a char as a super hybrid chinese on Oasis. Quit at 19 cuz I was a giant noob, had no idea what I was doing. Later on after getting hacked on runescape and the my ragnarok online private server dying out, I needed another mmo to satisfy myself. I remembered SRO and wondered if there'd be anything new. To my surprise Euro update was just arriving. Joined Odin when it opened and my legacy began there.

I had actually chosen KAL Online at first but their servers kept going down all the time, so I went back to mmorpg.com and looked for another fantasy-based game and found Silkroad Online. o.o

I've actually never played any other online game beside SRO because I've always thought online games to be confusing, and I stuck with SRO because I found it to be pretty straightforward. =]

A few friends of mine all started playing and told me about it, I couldnt get off runescape but as i went to this friends house he showed me it and I made a character and played it. They where all level 15 16 I caught up to them within 3 days and thought I was the shit and bought silk and bam all my friends quit.

I first googled free mmorpg and found it, dl'ed it, played it for about 2 hours and then stopped (i don't know why but I think i thought it was too complicated at first lol and i think during the closed beta). about a year later, when i was at someone's house i saw it on there and i was like "hey i know that game" so i started playing it and got the person there to play it too

My friend introduced the game to me, he started at lvl 36, and my other friend was 66. I thought they were so godly lol. I got a lvl 78 and 74 char now and my friend that introduced me maxed at 64 XD

made the mistake of looking for a free mmorpg like a year after I quit runescape. Thought sro was appealing and downloaded the client. a larger mistake in my gaming life. Now I dont play it

when runescape was hot, my friend looked around for another game, came across it, told my other friend, who told me.

I remember SRO back in the day. You just spammed connect till u got on or DCed, now you have to restart everytime. I wish JM would realize that the code isnt working for whatever purpose it had. Also, I'd wish they would ban bots regularly. If they were any good, i would by silk to support them....

Was playing Kal Online, and had a Lv 53 Vagabond there (Was high level at the time) then a friend of mine known as Punisher , (Puni on these forums) started playing Silkroad beta, and I was scorning him for the fact he was leaving me to play another game, then he was like you gotta try this game man its so cool, so hesitatingly I tried it and was instantly hooked, it was pretty much everything I expected back then and more, Silkroad was a dream of a game, and now here I am.

it was a looooong time ago, I cant remember the date but many (if they still play) remember me for "looking for party behind (the pot guy... lol I cant remember the name)" I remember we coudnt use the "?" and we used "/" the day it got added on a new patch there was lots of spamm with ? just becouse we could do it!!!
