Nope , not allowed to discuss about it , nor using it ... 7 days ban if you do admit you're using it

SRF doesnt relate to SRO's ToS.

if that were the case, the people who have a pk2 edit would be banned. which would be most people

It isnt what it does that matters (correcting a feature that shouldnt be there), but a general discouragement for the use of 3rd party software, as a means of protecting your account security. The other issue against it is simply when allowed, to what extent we draw the line, and would quickly lead to a slippery slope.

How does banning for 7 days do anything? Its pretty pointless. The people who use it will still be around and they will continue doing so. There should be no penalty but whatever.

YAY!!! Continuing like this all the forums will know about no dc clients, and start looking them, because they are cooler than usual ones.

if you dont have premium and really want to play game then use it.
Without it , the chance to get in on crowded server is lesser than being hit by a bus in your bedroom.

Its a form of reinforcement (do something bad, something gets taken away).

They're not necessarily cooler, and its risky to download from any random source. Its certainly not cool when your account gets hacked for using an altered client with a keylogger <.<.

lol, please.
So many people use noDc and multiclient and never get hacked.
The only people who get keylogged are idiots, they download stupid shit and use it without scanning.. etc

There's two clean noDc loaders I know of, tested on virustotal.com

wait...
you guys think no-dc client is a real client subsitute?

as far as i know, whats being used is just a script that re-routes the 'disconnected from server' pop up that u get when u can't log in.

from what i can tell its just a pop up blocker like a firefox or IE add-on that does nothing but ease the game from annoying things like the 'pop up DC' :S

lol it should be in the useful tools for download thing in this forum that way i can use it later when all my premiums run out in a couple weeks.

if ur gonna be against that might as well not use vent or teamspeak or some sh1t like that for fortress wars, guild wars or jobbing cuz that helps someone way more than not getting a disconnect pop up due to botting server traffic.

+1 Mr. Fudge, joymax should apply this themselves.I remember back in the day like a year ago when u didnt get disconnected after "cannot connect due to server traffic" msg.I don't see why talking about it or endorsing it(no-dc client) on the forum should be considered a no-no.

Botclients however :banghead:

Joymax won't enforce this themself, why you ask?

You get annoyed that you have to restart sro every time you dont connect, user buys premium to stop this..

Classic joymax marketing.

I was just telling the other mods to ignore the many current statements of

"If SRF bans for bots they should allow <something> and <other thing> and <whatever thing>"

Its really simple. Really really simple.

Heres the policies.
Break the policies, recieve a ban or warning.
Follow the policies.

IIRC the policies prohibit third party softwares cracks and so forth.

Which means, you will never find a "Download Link!" for something of that nature.

If we say "We are banning bots from the forum" then that means simply clear, "we are banning bots from the forum" in black and white.

It does not mean, "Oh, well SRF did this, therefore SRF is automatically obligated to do <this> and <that> but not <these> or your corrupt you support tos violations and any other crap people can dream up".

Actually the No-DC program writes in the part of the memory that remembers the code of a program. (If it's a loader) It just writes a JMP (Jump) at the place where you normally get DCed, so that the login sequence starts all over again. Atleast that's how I would do it ^^.
If you understand the SRO code and have some experience in the code then it's all fairly simple.

SpoT^
Just because I know how to do it, doesn't necessarily means I use one. I'm saying this because of the extreme bot hunting lately. You guys say ZERO tolerance. Then there is evidence against a Mod (no names but it's obvious which mod)that he/she helped other guild members get a bot, and yet he/she isn't banned. GREAT example of zero tolerance. BTW I do not know the exact conditions, nor have I thoroughly read all the evidence, It's really obvious that he/she must be banned.

It's even more simple than that actually. And nowadays the main distributers don't even have to do that each time, they just change the version the client holds internally, so the server thinks it's up to date (this dosen't work for them when theres a client update)

I'm waiting for the inevitable "your keyboard is banned" thread because of the Logitech G15's software...

Pretty easy to macro something that would give your character an unfair advantage.

Well macros arent against the rule as far as MD has said. they have openly admited to using one themselves on the official board.
