Only thing Mundo has on Nasus is mobility, that becomes less relevant in well organized team fights. What makes Nasus > Mundo however is his decay, on top of being a reliable slow it pretty much nerfs carries into nothingness and that is why Nasus > Mundo.
Then please explain why you see Nasus played so much in competitive matches.
You see Mundo played too. It doesn't constitute for an argument.

I am assuming you meant Mundo.
Reason being because Mundo has skills that are particularly effective on creeps and giving his tanky nature, sustain and as less of a factor, his mobility; attempting strategies where the damage sponge role is fill "makes sense".
Also friendly reminder, my comparison was initially made for dominion. There a great deal of the attributes I just used to describe Mundo have little relevance.
Another note is that I am not following the competitive scene close at all. I don't remember the last time I saw a Nasus game but of the ones I've seen recently I do remember seeing a lot of Mundo, he wasn't a game changer there, he just did his job.

By the time mundo gets his 4th item hes preety much unstoppable, not really a hard champion to play. Countering nasus is actually kind of easy, dont let him farm early game then when the teamfights come along and he ults you separate and run away from it til its over then u start to fight, make sure you kill his carries first and fast because when hes farmed he can take on at most 3 champions at a time, theyre both preety beast champions.
I keep forgetting sarcasm doesn't translate well over the internet. You see nasus rarely played nowadays, whereas mundo is in the god-tier list of junglers, was my point.
IMO it's good that new champs released are 6300 IP so that everyone doesnt insta buy it and play only it without knowing how to actually play him/her. The only champion Riot has ever released for cheaper than 3150 was Poppy (for 1350) and thta was like three years ago.
I think the champs as of late have been pretty op. Instead of fixing other champs they just make new ones which do everything better. Varus is like 3 carries rolled into one (improved caitlyn q, improved vayne W, improved miss fortune E and improved close range ult from ashe as well as a Graves-like passive but more suited for pushing and team fights). Almost all of Varus' spells have double utility. His slow is built into his spells and passive effects from one spell channel into another. The synergy on Varus' spells is unparalleled by any other AD carry imo. It's good that Riot is learning from past design mistakes, but their new champs are all just insta god tier and push the old ones away.
(I'm biased because I am poor and don't play enough to unlock the new champs. I hate new champs regardless of their overpoweredness.)
Imroved vayne W? Just build magic ressist and its easy to counter varus's W, but you cant counter vayne's W since it deals true damage. And his ult can't match ashes ult, this one is snare, not stun and trust me, stun is much more lethal. Also varus lacks somehing some other AD carries don't, escape mechanisms (besides slow), caitlyn has her net, corki has the fire thing, graves has dash etc.
But does he fit so well into teams? He has snare, which can be powerful when used correctly, but every other ult is the same, if u use it correctly it can wipe out the entire team. For example, ashe and ez have global ult, which makes them deadly for other lanes, caitlyn and graves have huge AD bursts (trust me, more than Varus does)...list could go on all night.
And I dont think new champs are OP, and even if they are, they will get nerfed (better nerf Irelia again), do you see a lot ppl playign Hecarim or Lulu anymore for example? And the high price is good for me, think a new champ with 3150 or 1350 IP price, everyone would buy it and then only play it for first couple of days, champ selection would be full of que dodgers cuz they couldnt insta lock the new champ they just bought. Im happy with Riot's method, however, I hope they fixed some of the older champs (Evelyn, duh) before making any new ones, Ashe model remake was step into right direction I think.
Oh and btw, why would u want to buy a new champ when its just released and everyone keep playing it? You cant really pick it a lot and it takes time to learn, wait few weeks until its F2P then try it and if u like it then buy it, otherwise buy some other champ, sicne they tend to be more balanced and stable (meaning they're not gona face huge nerfs or buff in the future mostlikely).
hmm, didn't realize Vayne's W was true damage. Still.. building MR to counter an AD carry? The improvement I meant is that Vayne's W takes time to build up and requires multiple auto attacks, whereas Varus can chain it into another spell and get the burst faster than Vayne. You're right about Ashe's ult, I was trying to make my point that Varus is a combination of other characters, I was wrong in saying it's an upgrade from Ashe's ult. I feel that Varus' burst is better than caits burst. It was also not the point I was making, the improvement that I mentioned refers to their Q's. Caitlyn has a long channel time for her Q and does a) not get anything extra for this channel time and b) can not modify the point of impact after the channel has started. Varus gets increased damage the longer he channels and can also still keep aiming while channeling the spell, hence the improvement over Caitlyn. Sure, varus doesn't have a real escape like cait/graves, but his ult is damn good close range and his total kit more than makes up for the lack of an escape.
Still.. haven't really seen Varus being played at any tournaments. Hecarim also not.. I think I'm wrong..

Silkroad: Probably lost all of my accounts already, but used to be something between: Grounded, Murphy, Peach... In many, many pservers... League of Legends *LAN - Groundy - lvl 30
Played Draven on the PBE. Most fun champ Riot has made since Ziggs and Riven.
