I assume, they each cost differently amirite?

I'm not a big hardware guy either, but I think your choice the Asus 5620 is the right one. It's the only one with a Core 2 Duo processor, which If I'm not mistaken is newer than the Dual Core processor and runs more efficiently as well as cooler. There isn't too much difference in the rest of the specifications of the other notebooks. I'm not sure about the video cards, you may want to do some research on them if you are planning on doing some gaming on it.

The 'best', is the INSYS Gameforce. But you only get linux. But I'm sure you have an xp/vista disk lying around somewhere that you can use.

If your not gaming on it. Then as you said I think the 8300 will be the best for you.

thx guys, well it's this thingy, everyone that's i think 11-18 and in school gets to get a laptop for 150 euros or 0 in my case (cause i got helpz from the government)

Well, it's purpose is so i can work anywhere i want, be able to run PS and Adobe Premier easily, and still be able to play games whenever i got some free time or w.e O.o
I was gonna get the dell one, because i could get it in the moment, but since that thingy ended yesterday, i have to order one >.> So yeah, this thing got on my mind tho, it seems like ACER comps/laptops have bad reputation O.o
hmmmm

look for the best costumers service in your state and see if they are willing to give you nice spare parts (in case of troubles) then go for it

around here Dell Costumer services are better than HP although HP laptops have been performed quite nice last year but they dont last long as thier counterparts

Acer, emachine, dell, gateway, and compaq are garbage.
Toshiba makes good low end, Sony makes good high end, and HP fills the gap in between.

If I could redo it all, i'd get a mac. Laptops will never be great gaming machines, and because of that they lose their edge over buying a mac. For what I use my laptop for (academics), I would of much rather bought a mac.

I'm a laptop enthusiast, and I can tell you they all suck. If you aren't buying for gaming, which you definitely shouldn't unless you go for that awesome new Voodoo and like blowing money, then you should get one of those Asus Eee Laptops or the MSI Wind. If you don't want a sub notebook get a Lenovo IdeaPad or Thinkpad. If you're gaming go to ibuypower.com and buy yourself a desktop and save yourself the trouble.

And yeh I agree with Dom you should definitely go for a mac if you're willing to try it. You won't regret it imo.

And if you like that extensa or w/e its stats aren't half bad so looks pretty sound imo.

I play recent games on High res on a macbook Pro, without problems.

Furthermore, i'm assuming we both have the same (graphical) fields of interest. The mac is great for that, i'd go as far as saying it's designed for that.

I'll have to +1 your post.

Macs had a lot of compatability issues with games, but it's getting better with every generation of game releases. Most new games will work on a mac now, but with a PC you still get that tiny edge, and that's really the only thing in which the mac doesn't win.
