From a design perspective: newsletters

I'm currently researching Newsletters, optimizing them for the company i work for. My company also hosts and sells packages that allow other businesses to create and send there own newsletters.

I'm working on a a general set of rules, some sort of anyways. This includes design standards, content, interaction, even advertising.

Anyways:

When reading newsletters, how many columns works for you?

one, two (like SRF), three, three +

Fill in the poll ;)
