Do you actually listen?

The other day I was using my sisters Ipod and She had a old song. It was Eminem's Bones in the closet. This time I actually listened to what he was saying and it was actually good. After listening to different songs I have learned that some of them actually a pretty good.

Does anyone else here actually listen to the words? Or do you just listen to the beat.

90's music was badass, imo, if you listen to the lyrics they're actually cool and make sense, not "SHE MOVES HER BODY LIKE A CYCLONEEEE!!!!!!" "APPLE BOTTOM JEANS! BOOTS WITH THE FURRRRRR!"

Yea.
I downloaded like 20 songs from the 80's-90's and listened to then.
They are actually good.
Ain't nothing but a G-thang- Snoop dog is actually good. It isn't like rap from these days that all they care about is girls and cars.

rap was about girls and cars in the 90's i think you need to listen closer...

closer.....

closlier....

see.

And i always listen to the lyrics, they're part of the song. Why would I listen to something and not listen to all of it that doesn't make any sense, its like half-assing on your own enjoyment...

I've listened to Numb- Linkin Park like 500 times and I've never listened to the lyrics.

Now that I listen to it again its is nice

I listen to the general feel of the song. Which means lyrics and melody combined. If that's good, then it'll be a great song. Mess up one of the two, and i'll never listen it more then once.

I listen to the lyrics if I can understand them. I have a bunch of Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Italian, French, Spanish, and a load of other languages I don't understand. In that case, I go with the melody.

If it's in English, I listen.

I listen to both, but it's usually the beat/actual music/tone of the vocals that make me really enjoy a song. I do appreciate artists with good lyrics a ton more though, and I really can't stand songs with middle school-esque lyrics ('I kissed a girl and I liked it..." etc  ).

rap was different, but they still showed off with the stuff they had.
the difference was that the political aspect of rap was higher than now.

many of tupacs lyrics are about sex by the way, it only sounded and more slick than lets say..

David Banner - Play :banghead:
Code: Select all

not much to learn from those songs..
