how about saying you're sorry?
or did you blow up a building or something, in that case
sorry isn't enough.

depends on the scenario and what happens.... u gotta give more information.
if you accidently ran into someone and they fall down, then it's understandable.
but if you took a gun and blow someone's brain off, and then try to apologize to the person's mom then u might as well forget it

Well, I was ignoring someone I really should not have been ignoring. I do not know what I was thinking and now I know they are extremely mad at me. And this person is one of my only friends

The point was nothing in that sentence was gay or even relevant to being gay. It was actually a true and well said statement.

Like the above posts, saying sorry and you
actually meaning it, then its fine, pretty normal way.
You can try to apologize in a different way, like sorry to your girl, buy her some gifts, with apologies and dinner to go with it or something.
So try to go with the current status that you have, then try to blend it into your "apology" so that you can find the
best way to apologize for whatever reason that you need apologizing for.
Hope i said it right, too much apology, ize, ing, making me bite my tongue after proof reading it >.<

Just remember: never mix an apology with an excuse. Just admit that you were wrong, that there are no excuses for your behavior, and that you are very very sorry.
