Well, kinda. The phone was made by Taiwan's HTC (High Tech Computer Corporation) and it's the first ever to run Google's Android. For those who don't know it yet, Android is an open source mobile OS.



Quick info:
T-Mobile currently holds this exclusively. $179.00 + 2 yr. contract
Pre-orders started on the 23rd.
Comes out in stores on Oct. 22nd.
Touch screen
Slide-out QWERTY keyboard
Track ball/Nipple mouse?

From a person who knows nothing about phones.
Looks ewwy with the bottom part.

I'm dissapointed in a contract again going to T-mobile, these special contract give them the right to be the only selling the phone, for a certain amount of time.

Same thing happened to the Iphone 3G in holland, it's bad for competing businesses.

Anyways, I like the concept of Google Android, though i think they're being a bit quick in releasing it.

The phone is plain Ugly. Can't say anything else, the bottom is hideous. The top is a slide mechanism, which when slid upwards will reveal a QWERTY keyboard. Which is not new, works most of the time, but in this case is designed oh so poorly.

I'm not getting it, can't imagine anyone but the 'cracks' getting this over a real HTC or an Iphone for that matter.

It does feel rushed. Using this phone to take on iPhone is, well, hopeless. The only thing I think that it has advantage over iPhone is the 3.1 MP camera. That's it. -.-"

Though, I wonder if they were able to put in Chrome in there. :S

Hope they didn't. Would ruin the mobile for a bit seeing as Chrome is still highly volatile against flash and java applications.

Yep.

I'm not sure, the phone hasn't been released yet, and i actually do think it's one of the desired aplpications to be in there.

Doesnt make it a prettyer phone though.

I think the phone is prettyful.

Read about this a week or so ago on TG and saw a video of some of its features. I dug it.

It's only $20 cheaper than the iPhone. My friends go it and it's a rip off of the iPhone, just so u all know.
And it's nice.

I'd rather have the iphone then an experimental ugly thing, with dodgy support.

im just waiting for google to put out and OS to compete with Windows.

That will be a while. Once there initial OS is released, it wont be perfect, which is a process that takes a while to complete.
