Well last week I got a ingrowing nail and after a couple of days the pain dissapeared but today with my big luck I went right in to a chair and the nail just flied of. Dammit it hurts like hell now. and no band-aid home so i did my own with paper and tape.

Just use a sock or something, hot water will get the blood out.

well the blood is gone but not the pain, i just use my homemade band aid to protect from infections or smomething a while

it went away...lucky iv had operations on both big toes to have part of the nail taken away to stop it ingrowing

Haha same thing happend to me (kinda) went into a wall.(or something ) Half my nail went straight up. looked kinda like this _| imagine that that is my nail.

Got no wize advices for u hope it gets better

I stepped in Glass once with my bare feet. I can't offer you any information aside from keeping it clean.

like my step father, twice.

my dad has got no toe nails im lucky the operation was successful both times other wise they would have to remove the nail and that would be weird

What ingrowing? I broke the same nail twice as a kid, never had any operations, no ingrowing :s

I used to have two in-grown toenails. Thanks to my dads ingenuity, years of pain, and his trusty knife, toe-nail cutter, scissors, and industrial quantity of gauze pads, I no longer have that problem.

most males on my dads side the family had it so i guess its a family thing not just for my family

I had the same.

ouch

I got it from my mom's side,on both of my nails.
Almost had to go on an operation,but bah i was young and scared lol.
Now it doesn't hurt because i cut it extra carefully the way my doc told me.
(Only get some pain for some time if somebody steps on my foot or something.)

Rofl, my dad is a man of makeshift medical solutions as well.
I had a gaping wound on my leg and instead of sending me to the doctor we went on to tape the wound.
Long story short: big infection and now I'm a pirate.

Trust me, you DO want to keep it clean. I've had those problems, and because of the lack of hygiene, I needed to get on a surgery. First time I went there, it was like, BAM, the anestesia hurts, but the whole operation is nothing. Then the second time (about a year after) it happens to me again, just on another toe, and on both sides this time. Again, had to go to a surgery, but this time I knew what it was like. First time I went there, I didn't say even.. "aahh". The second time it was "aaaaaaaaahh". Whole half an hour of screaming, though the surgeon was working fast.

And now again, I'm having this problem, one sided this time though, but it's recovering. Just keep the hygiene VERY MUCH UP, or you will suffer from the surgery.
