I'm currently working for a Multimedia Company in Holland called: Elma Multimedia B.V.

I'm creating a model with standards regarding design, interaction and content for there online communication services.

They just launched a new website at: http://www.elma.nl . And that got me curious. (I think its not very pretty but w/e)

I want to know, what a visitor's first thing that catches his eye is. Like in 3-5 seconds, what's the thing that caught your vision.

I created a very amateuristic survey to monitor the results.

I merely specified 4 options, though i'm more interested in the " Other, please specify" box below those.

Could all of you please take the survey? I need a lot of data Please be thorough about your answer, i need a specific one.

Made it on Zoomerang.com, a well known site that offers survey tools. It will run for 10 days. I'm hoping to get a tons of results withing those.

the first thing i saw was the guy rolling around with the megaphone and the company seal in the top left corner

First thing I saw was the banner of the guy with the megaphone.

I noticed the big ELMA Multimedia logo in the top left corner. It is a bit large, especially if you have a low resolution monitor, or your web browser is not maximized. It pushes the contents of the website down a bit.

As a side, I also noticed that although the website is written in Dutch, there are a few phrases in English.

Site is small in 1280 x 1024 I think, on the right there is a big empty space.

I saw the juicy lips in the banner first

eerste wat ik zag was de top banner,, lijkt op die van KPN
volgende wat ik zag was het rollende mannetje, erg afleidend
daarna, plaatje rechts van rollende mannetje, 3 personen die in camera kijken, ziet er gestretched uit, links -> rechts, niet je-van-het

verder stijl, beetje windows ME / 98 stijl,, weinig uitdagend, tam, dof, vrij kleurloos design roze lichtblauw licht groen, ziet er raar uit
herhaling uit banner halen en poppetje laten stoppen met rollen aan eind van plaatje, brengt wat meer rust in website eerste keer zie je het wel xD

dan over de E van elma ik weet niet wie eerder dat van die E had maar onderbreking van streepjes + andere kleur is eerder gedaan ontschiet me welke (dacht bank) ook dat gebruikt, wel stylish best leuk

*volg studie marketing, en alle resultaten die je hier krijgt zou ik niet mogen gebruiken van leraar marktresearch je hebt specefiek gekozen voor de doelgroep mensen die op deze website kijkt, niet eens nederlanders ik betwijfel of het de doelgroep is die je voor ogen hebt met die website

You might wanna edit the first post and tell people not to read the replies in this thread. They might tend to look for the things that have been mentioned once they open the site.

I first noticed the orange advertisement cube(the top right one) because the colour is different from the rest of the site, filled the survey etc.
