I don't see a difference between curtains and drapes... I prefer blinds too.

As an interior designer it would depend on what room, in a kitchen or bathroom blinds will look better then in a lounge or bedroom. Also there are a number of different blinds to chose from, Roman, Venetian, vertical. Also there are different styles of curtain, different lengths, different heading.
I have in my bedroom, wooden Venetian blind, with floor length curtains with an eyelet heading.
You need an option for both.

I would prefer blinds, since they have those new ones now,
Whereby the blinds goes up, rather than down.

Actually, I change my mind. I could mean something dirty
E.g., when you see a hot girl walk past, you could say something along the lines of,"I'd curtain her." >.<

You'd be surprised at what it looks like, I'll take a pic of my window and post it in here.
P.S I love my curtains, at £230 I think it is money well spent!!

I'm still lacking curtains ever since i moved out of my parents's house.
Mainly cause the prices drop my chin to the floor. I know sheets of fabric are a little pricy, so that's np. But i mean, i have an area of 3.89 meters to cover, and the woman in the store tells me she's gonna need about 16-17 meters of fabric? HELLO!?

What is the width of your window? and the drop of the curtains? It also depends if there is a pattern repeat in the fabric?
My window is only 60" (150cm) and I have a drop of 82" (to the floor)and I needed 10 metres of fabric, only because I had a large pattern repeat in the fabric. It also depends on how many widths of fabric in each curtain you need, the style heading.

The width is 3.89 meters, the drop is about 2.40 meters. There was some kind of Baroque like pattern in it yes. But still, 16-17 meters :O

Yeah that does sound right, you have a very large drop as well as width, I think without knowing the width of fabric that you will need 2 - 2.5 widths in each curtain (=5 widths in total). That alone is 12 metres without knowing the pattern repeat and also have to think about hems as well.

Well there is the term "beef curtains". Use your imagination.
