It was announced in the latest chapter (087 for those who follow its scanlated). I liked the anime so of course i had to read the manga which is better imo. The current manga story line makes the second half of the FMA anime look like a cake walk. Im hoping they'll carry out with the manga storyline which could be rapping up soon i'd say it could go to 100 chapters or somewhere around there, since FMA is released 1 chapter a month though that could take over a year >>. If the mangas not going to be completed by the time the new series comes out it'll probably follow a made up storyline again or continue with the one they've started, Shambala leaves something open imo.
Anyway nothing else besides a new series has been announced so everything above is just speculation, they could start over with all new characters but you know...ppl would riot.

Shit got lame after the series devolved into another typical "underdog battles super-beings for the fate of the world" scenario.
This is why I left most anime.

That's mostly Shonen. You could be a man and watch Hellsing where super-beings fight for the fate of the world and always lose. lol, paradox.
last chapter comes out next month too. ;_;

and like someone said if you don't like heros saving the world shounen is not for you. Still as far as shounen go FMA is one of the more mature one in terms of themes and plot.

i started watching FMA but it was way too slow for me stopped at episode 2 i think, not really motivated for a new season but maybe ill give it a 3rd shot .....
