Admitatley i am not the worlds most adept person when it comes to chosing computer parts. Physically i know what im doing but when it comes to choices.. im a little lost.
So if anyone is willing to help me choose between the following cards it would be greatly appriciated. I don't really know which ones are the best value for money so help would be greatly appriciated.
As far as use is concerned the highest end game i would play is obvlivion and spore when it comes out ( spores the reason i need a new graphics card, my old one displays everything with a yellow tinge >_< )
Picture is as follows ( note i cant get the vic only one )

+1. Price/Performance ratio, GT wins - and I love how you don't need a 950w power supply to run one. I've been eye'ing this particular card for a long time. 139,99... you just can't go wrong.

But is it really worth the extra $60 as oppsoed to the 9600? Is the 9600 really that bad in comparison?
EDIT: Or even in comparison to the 8600? Is the peformance between the 8800 gt really worth the $110 saved by getting a 8600?

pff, Your Price:$549.99
or just
4850 and over clock yourself Price after rebate(s):$152.99
no x2 but still full of win.
but to your original post, 8800 gt bang for buck better than the 9800, 8800gs is facking cheap, could put 2 in machine for price of 9800.

I've ordered a HD 4850 512MB.. Price around 130€, it's said 4850 beats 9800GTX single-handedly. Seems to me that Radeon HD offers more bang for the buck than Geforce does atm.

9800GTX if cost and power supply is not a concern. 8800GT otherwise. 8800GS - I have it, not quite what I had hoped for, even though it's decent.

I'd go for 9600/9800.
I have a 9600GT myself, and I don't need an extra or better power supply. My current is 600W and it works like a charm.

8800GT or 9800GT, your pick. I would take the 9800GT though.

I don't think the 9800 is really worth it atm, it's not really that much of an upgrade when comparing to 8800GT.
I have an 8800GT and I'm very pleased. Anyways, I'd definitely NOT get the 8600 or 9600.
I don't get why people buy those tbh.
