I remember when I was young, I used to lay down in my bed while trying to fall asleep and just think about how one day this could be possible. And try to imagine how they would transmit electricity through the air...they've done it!

WOW thats awesome I also wondered if it would ever be possible but I guess they pulled it off. Too bad it wont be till 2050 or something like that. I hope were still around...

Dude this is old lol ... Its called “WiTricity” ... that was made on Idea of some Croatian guy - "Marin Soljačić" (done on MIT, where he started to lead team of 5 scientist)... The same result was Nikola Tesla hoping for, he had everything in his head, but he didnt have the cash for experimenting. More about how this was done Here

... Using Magnetic Flow "Fi" (I seriously dont know how to say that on english), it is transfering Voltage from Primary solenoid to Secondary (with Iron Core)... Magnetic Flow "Fi" is the only thing that is connecting them ...

Electricity and magnetic things share a few resembles and can be used to make each other.
I guess they go from an electric field to a magnetic one and back to an electric one.

Never liked physics thus there I stop.

i've heard about this first about a year ago, so that's probably
the thing nitro posted. it's great that they can make it work, but
from what i have heard, it's not efficient enough to be used right
now. there's too much loss in the empty space. but still, it's great
that they can make it work :]

I doubt they're safe when you increase the power of the magnetic field.
And people with pacemakers will have issues once more.

In maybe around a century I think the all the technology that's being analyzed and experimented today will be put into everyday use, like that Brain Gate technology. Really is amazing, too bad most of will be old geezers by then, if not dead.

i agree like it was mentioned earlier electricity and magnetism are related, the body relies heavily on electrical impulses to function among other things...seems to conflicting to me, we've been told b4 by some very intelligent ppl that something that we now know to be bad was thought to be good for us.

Why did you start about electromagnetic waves?

Anyway:
You can use electricity to make a magnetic field and vice versa. Had to do something with moving or spinning. Not entirely sure because I barely passed my physic courses.

you know this has already been a long time ago, by some scientist. i don't remeber his name but my teacher showed us a picture during physics. he had done more things that we have yet to figure out. his notes were burned down i think.
