So, I've got this project for school (yeah, even though it's only my first week they've allready assigned us a real project we need done by October 10th!!

So, Here's my question.

As a forum with a lot of nations in it, (well, mostly americans, but some lost souls between it) and I was wondering, what do people from (especially) Holland, China, Japan, US, Germany, UK, Belgium, France, Scandinavia, Spain and Italy think or expect when they're going to Holland or the United Kingdom?

To quote the assignment:
My Assignment wrote:The student must produce an exposition (in a group of maximum 3 students) about the Netherlands/United Kingdome as a tourist destination. It will be an exposition for inbound(going to the country) and domestic (national) tourists markets. You will be asigned a market by your tutor, one of the following:
    - Dutch tourists
    - Chinese tourists
    - Japanese tourists
    - American tourists
    - German tourists
    - British tourists
    - Belgium tourists (wtf, isn't it Belgian?? dem brits' made a mistake *giggles*)
    - French tourists
    - Scandinavian tourists
    - Spanish tourists
    - Italian tourists.

and yes, I quoted it directly from the assignment, so yes, I have got these things in English.

So, as one of the above named countries, what would you expect of going to England/UK or the Netherlands?

How would you travel?

What do you find more interesting;
    - Visiting the Capital of the country?
-Visit musea, cultural and/or historical cities/towns?
    - Go to the countryside?
    - Visit Geographical features?
    - Visit National Parks?
    - Go to bodies of water, or woodland areas and forests?

Explain yourselves...

Like this:
what country you come from:
Reason why to UK/NL:
What to do there:

This time
what country you come from:Ireland,GF German
Reason why to UK/NL: UK Romantic Week Away, Destination. Edinburgh.
What to do there: Visit Local Historic Monuments, Big Castle thing. Restaurants where beautiful. Walk around sites, ZOO as always is a tourist favourite of mine. Find the best local beer, her find the best local bargain. Both Enjoyed the night life, and friendly atmosphere in all the locals.

Last time
what country you come from:Ireland,GF American
Reason why to UK/NL: UK Romantic Week Away, Destination. London.
What to do there: Americans love anything Historical. The lack of any kind of building over 200 years old at home for them creates a huge interest for them when seeing stuff 50-1000 years old. Spent the whole week being obssesed with Royal Family, Historical buildings and londons famous landmarks, I broke up with her 2 days later. Never dated an american again.

I would recomend you take a look at these sites for real tourist opinions, I travel alot and my current german girlfriend has circumnavigated the world 5 times and been to 50+ countries. We are both members of this site, the best traveling site ever.

I would say in my own experience that every city, country is has the same basics. Some great sights, history and locals. The secret of travelling is knowing what you want, THEN how to find it.

You could easily have a multitued of responses for any one city in the UK and not one would be remotely similar. I love London I regularly fly over for just the night and party till the wee hours to get a plane back to dublin. Its not the usual but its an experience ;)

Is there something nice to see in The Netherlands?

Drugtourism would be my first option to visit you.

But I know a few people who go on a bike"tour" where you live.

if i'd go to england, i'd probably visit a couple of old castles,
the palace ofcourse, and for the rest i'd just rent a car and drive
around a bit. if the weather's nice that is. oh, and i'd probably
go see a couple of srf members too.
