im up to the stage where i select my subjects for year 12

either bio or chem will get me into the course i want so of course i want the easier one.

ive done chem before getting average B's, as for bio.. ive never done it before. No pre-requesites for biology so im assuming it is easier than any other science subjects and ive heard people say chem is the hardest science subject so i need some help with which is truly the easier/better one.

physics is out of the question !

Biology since you dont like physics

biology is easier imo.

If i was you i would pick chem because you already know some part of it.

Both hard? I love math more.

Since you have done chem before i would choose it

As most have said, I'd do chem as you've done some of it before.

I do chem. Friends tell me bio is easier but i dont take it so i dont really know, but since you have already done a bit of chem.. Go for it.

Biology is easy. It doesn't require any understanding what so ever.

Physics: hard, but doable if you're good at maths.
Biology: learn things by hearth, whether it's cytology, histology, physiology, crap about metabolism or huge bio-polymers.
Chem: Hard if you fail to see the logic, easy if you so it. Inorganic chem: fairly easy. Organic chem: requires a bit more understanding but 95% off it consists of positive things "attacking" negative things with the occasional transfer of charges.

I have to pick my year 12 subjects in year 11 - then study them for two years.

Biology is in my opinion, funner, and easier than Chemistry. Chemistry is boring blah blah and harder.

umm, surely you have some idea what biology would be like, so i guess chose the subject you find more interesting. Also people do unit 3/4 in year 11 and they had never done bio before, so i guess you would be fine doing it in year 12

It's easy, I on my final exam I scored 8.8/10, so yeah..

I'd go for Bio, especially if your not a that smart person like me...

I did the past two years bio with writing my homework from my friends, and I was always doing something in class except for wqhat i was supposed to do.. but I still did it with a prety nice grade.

You know why?

Because if you just read some things from the book once in a while, and then you pay good attention when doing your tests, you'll pass it easily. It's all about reading in Biology, and also a bit knowing..

i took bio as sophmore, chem as junior, now i am taking bio and phy as senior , so just do them all

Bio is the easiest stuff ever, i got an A in my freshman year and i dint do anything, but my sophmore year iam taking chemistry

engineers dont have to take biology, so I never took it, but

Chem is more application, like basic algebra, while biology is more retention based. Since I have bad memory, I continued with chemistry.

Biochemical Engineers have to take biology.

I like physics more but since it isn't an option and AFAIK you can't repeat classes unless you failed them or go to a higher version (from Norm Chem to Honors or Honors to AP), I would go with biology.

Take both and be a BIOCHEMIST my friend's brother is doing something with chem+bio as his major, he says its fun LOL

Go for Bio. When it comes down to it, it's purely memorization, though there are concepts here and there. I don't know the reason why you don't like physics but I'll assume it's the math part. With that, you wouldn't want Chemistry as both Intro Chem (plain high school chemistry) and General Chem (AP Chemistry) have stoichiometry in them, which is math. (Bio, at a certain level, has math too, but not as hard compared to Chem)

Bonus: you get to dissect.

I thought they were both pretty easy tbh, but liked chem a bit more than bio.

yeah thats pretty much it. No one here can give the "right" answer, its all about what you like. If you aren't good at memorizing (because biology is basically that), then take chem. And if you are terrible at math and logic, go with biology.

Chem and maths?
That's only partly true. when you're referring to see if a reaction will happen, at what rate it'll happen and how much of your product forms combined with a few pH and concentration calculations, which is all fairly basic maths.


Then again, organic chem has little to do with maths. Finding the correct reaction mechanism of a 15step reaction is a lot more fun than reproducing blabla like you do in biology.


Be a man and take chem.

In grade 9 biology we learned anatomy and reproduction, i've been biased towards boobs ever since.

i would go for chem
imo, bio is really confusing and worse than chem

Biology! because it's easy and you may get to open kitty cats! lol,and where i go, biology is 9th grade class and chem is a 10th class, so i assuminh bio is easier, and I thought it was easy, 95 in that class, (i wouldve had a 100 if i would turned in my Bacteria Poster)
