Re: Wireless USB Connector help
Wait, so you have a D-Link USB connector going into what kind of computer?
Was there an installation CD that came with the USB connector - b/c I know things like that usually do have one of those, but most of the time you don't need it.

Re: Wireless USB Connector help
How long have you sat with it in before giving up on it? Some objects take a little longer when being recognised for the first time. (mice come to mind)
Other then that, tried booting the computer up with it plugged in?

Re: Wireless USB Connector help
Well on my server pc, it says Uknown USB Device..... It detects everything else INCLUDING MY Guitar Hero controller which is newer than the USB D-link DWL-G122, and I have the drivers, so when I try to fix the Uknown USB Device, it asks for a .INF file but I dont have any for usb devices or such, what do I do
Re: Wireless USB Connector help
Maybe you need to download a driver for the usb?

Re: Wireless USB Connector help
well i just installed the D-Link DWL-G122 revD FW 4.00 drivers, well they load and show the connectivity bar at the bottom, but it will not detect the USB connector (i made sure the inside of usb was clean and and pc as well) ? I remember when I did have the CD it work on this same motherboard, processor and such even same hard drive (HD may not mean a difference though) so what now?

Re: Wireless USB Connector help
Just make sure its the right firmware. What OS is it running? Is it running server, or just win xp?/vista?
Dlink doesnt support vista/home server 07. And you'll have to go hunting for firmware on their Taiwanese (at least what I had to do) in order to get my peripherals working. (Was a DWL-120, or somewhere along those lines)

I'm running Windows XP professional and the D-link DWL-G122 is revD (D1 FW 4.00)? I downloaded the drivers and installed them, but now it wont even detect my DWL-G122

I did have a similar issue on my XP machine, however my USB stuff was dodgey to begin with.
Try using a different cable, (if its connected with a cable), the ones they use are pretty generic. If the drivers are installed, try finding the thing in Device manager and see if you can force install it that way.

lolzour, you don't have one on your motherboard? Weak. The last computer I owned that didn't have it onboard didn't have USB.
