Notebook cases

So I now got a notebook, all that's left for me to get is a notebook case.

Anyone got a nice one, that's not that expensive xD I searched for a while online and saw different notebooks but you never know what you get when you order it online. Anyone got some personal experience.

I'd prefer a messenger case (for over the shoulder) and it should be max 15.4".

ever try going to your local electronics store? like best buy, staples, office max. or even target or walmart.

going in person and finding the one that suits your preferences seems like a better idea.

And I just wanted to know if anyone on here has some nice experience with cases.

I have a couple. I've have learned that university campuses have the best and cheapest carrying bags/cases. My two favorites are a backpack with a laptop slot (great for travelling), and a messenger bag with stuff for my pencils, pens, cellphone, etc - good for every day wearing.

Messenger bags are useful if you're going to be walking around with a laptop - if it's just for show I wouldn't recommend it. I'd just get a basic black bag with a handle they sell at the laptop stores.

i've been thinking of getting a backpack laptop bag, but i liked this
one a lot because it's very lightweight, and it's very strong. it's a
crossover between a hard-case and a bag really. i bought it for about
50 euro at the MAKRO, and that's for a 17" one. the good thing is that
it's got all zippers. the laptop bag i got with my laptop was very weak,
mainly because only the laptop part had a zipper on it, the other pockets
had "klitteband" (idk what that is in english, google it.).

I agree on the backpack thing. Its also recommended as it is a lot safer to carry around in a bag that doesn't say "look at me, I've got an expensive laptop with me just waiting for you to mug me".

If you're living off campus, comfortability is the key. I had fancy bags, but leaving at 8am and only getting home past 11pm takes a toll on your shoulders if you don't get a good bag. And, getting it stolen isn't that bad at a college campus - there's more theft but there's infinite more laptops then any other place. Everyone has one and everyone knows that, even if you don't use a messenger bag.

Are you sure? Universiteit Twente got a campus AFAIK, with rooms where you can live.

And yeah, I live off the campus. Going with the bus every day then etc..So a backpack model would be the best then?

Backpack is a lot more comfortable, but some people find it juvenile. Some messenger bags are really comfortable too - and as a university student you won't be carrying around text books and note books around. You essentially just need a laptop, and whatever else you might need.

I only bring my laptop, charger, planner, pencils/pens - so because the load is light, you might still be comfortable with a messenger bag. But one thing is for sure: when it's -20C outside, with snow up to your waist, it's nice to have a big backpack (especially to put your gloves, scarf, etc. when inside).
