I noticed the front legs are patterned to a person walking backwards and the back legs are patterned to a person walking forward. And it walks like a newly born horse.

It's probably more difficult to create a true quadruped than to link up two bipeds. I would imagine that they are working towards horse-like joints, and this is just a step in the process.
